Abstract

En renseinnretning mottar inngående papirmasser i et invertert konisk kammer (26), snm virker som en hydrosyklon for å rette tungrejekt-strømmer utad, lettrejekt-strømmer inn i et tømmende virvelkammer og akseptstrømmer i mellom til en virvelsøker for uttak. Renseinnretningens hus har et invertert hydrosyklonkammer (34) utformet under den inverterte konus og en keramisk splitter (36) under hvilken den tunge rejektstrøm blir fradelt fra akseptstrømmen, og lede den inn i det inverterte hydrosyklonkammer (34). En del av den avledede rungrejekt-strøm fjernes gjennom et toroidalt avlastningsutløp (47) for tung rejekt, men den større fraksjon av tungrejektstrømmen resirkuleres inne i det inverterte hydrosyklonkammer. Fordi kammeret avsmalner etter hvert som det går oppad, øker strømningen i hastighet og vinkelhastighet i en slik utstrekning at strømmen inne i det inverterte hydrosyklonkammer tilpasses strømmen som passerer kammeret, som dermed hindrer turbulent blanding.
