Abstract

Fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av eddiksyre omfattende (1) kontinuerlig tilførsel av metanol og/eller et reaktivt derivat derav og karbonmonoksyd til en karbonylerings- reaktor inneholdende en flytende reaksjonssammensetning som omfatter en iridium- karbonyleringskatalysator, metyliodid-kokatalysator, en endelig konsentrasjon av vann, eddiksyre, metylacetat og, eventuelt minst en promotor; (2) karbonylering av metanolen og/eller det reaktive derivatet derav med karbonmonoksydet i den flytende reaksjons- sammensetningen for fremstilling av eddiksyre; og (3) utvinning av eddiksyre fra den flytende reaksjonssammensetningen, idet det kontinuerlig opprettholdes (a) i den flytende reaksjonssammensetningen vann ved en konsentrasjon som ikke er større enn 4,5 vekt-%, og (b) i reaktoren et karbonmonoksyd-partialtrykk i området fra over O til 7,5 bar.
