Abstract

Et kationisk pigment omfattende et strukturert aggregat av et partikkelformig materiale og en mikrogel, og et modifisert eller ikke-modifisert eplklorhydrln- dimetylamin-kondensat. Pigmentet kan fremstilles ved at et strukturelt aggregat-pigment omfattende en leire og/eller titandioksyd eller andre partikkelformige komponenter, og en funksjonell mikrogel fremstilt fra silisium- og aluminium- eller sink-geldannere og et geldannelsesmiddel som kalsiumklorld, kationiseres ved tilsetning av en effektiv mengde av modifisert eller ikke-modifisert epiklorhydrin ¿ dimetylamin- kondensat til en oppslemming av det strukturelle pigment. De resulterende kationiske pigmenter har gode papir- fremstillingskarakteristlka og en sterkt forbedret retensjon.
