A further feature is the use of vertically oriented, ventilated steps (compartments) (49) in the sides of the side hulls (95, 96) to reduce wetland resistance during rough sea operation. Other features are the use of an air turbulence generator (39) on the underside of the interconnecting hull structure (79).
