Description
Tannpleiemiddel.
Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører et caries-forhindrende tannpleiemiddel i pulver- eller tablett-form og som er basert på lysozym.
Det vites at tannråte skyldes nedbrytning av tannemaljen be-virket av syrer som dannes som et resultat av gjæring av karbo-hydrater inneholdt i matrestene tilstede i munnhulen og på overflaten av tennene på grunn av innvirkning av bakterier.
Den biokjemiske mekanisme av gjæringen fører ikke bare til dannelse av syrer men også til utvikling av energi som brukes for formering.av bakteriene, som f.eks. Lactobacillus, Candida-albicans og hovedsakelig Streptococcus mutans.
Surhet medfører avmineralisering av tannen slik at det dannes hulrom hvori gjæringsprosessen fortsetter helt til tannen er ødelagt.
Det finnes forskjellige former av tannpleiemidler i handelen, inneholdende desinfeksjonsmidler eller enzymblokerende midler, som aktive på bakteriefilmen som dannet på tannemaljen slik at filmen ødelegges eller begrenses i sin utstrekning. De er således aktive på et fåtall faktorer, som f.eks. mikroorganismer og enzymer, som frembringer omgivelser gunstige for utvikling av dental caries.
Den foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører således et tannpleiemiddel med caries forhindrende antibakteriell virkning, og det særegne ved tannpleiemidlet i henhold til oppfinnelsen er at det inneholder lysozym som en antibakteriell komponent.
Lysozym er et naturlig enzym som inneholdes i forskjellige kroppssektreter og i ekstraktene fra forskjellige organer og er i stand til å hydrolysere mureinlaget i veggene av de caries-frembringende celler.
Når en gang mureinlaget er svekket undergår cellene osmolyse og ødelegges på denne måte.
I det nevnte tannpleiemiddel elimerer lysozym på grunn av sin oppløsende virkning på micrococcer bakterieveksten av hovedsakelig Streptococcus mutans som fremmer dannelse av dental caries.
Lysozym er ikke stabilt i tannpastaer eller andre blandinger basert på et vanndig medium og av.denne grunn innblandes lysozymet i tannpleiemidler i pulver- eller tablett-form, idet den sistnevnte oppnås direkte ..fra pulveret ved hjelp av stabi-liseringsmaskiner, da det er mulig å innlemme lysozym i høye doseringer som kreves for å. utvise en effektiv bakteriostatisk effekt.
Det er fremstilt tannpleiemidler som inneholder opptil 4 % lysozym.
Sammensetningene var ellers tilsvarende de handelsvanlige og var aromatisert med tymol.
Det ble fremstilt blandinger med lysozym-prosentinnhold fra 1 til 4 %, som ble sammenlignet med samme blandinger uten lysozym og med en konvensjonell blanding basert på natrium-N-laurylsarcosinat (en antienzymatisk blanding i vanlig bruk).
Blandingene var følgende:

An prøvegruppe på 25 personer foretok systematisk testing av blandingene i tre uker. Hver person som deltok ved testingen hadde anvendt den normale blanding for den første uke og de caries forhindrende blandinger for de to etterfølgende uker. Bare en gruppe på 5 personer fortsatte å bruke den normale blanding.
De andre, i grupper på fem personer, anvendte henholdsvis blandingene 2, 3, 4 og 5.
Tennene ble pusset tre ganger daglig etter måltidene, klokken 8 om morgenen, 2 om ettermiddagen og 9 om kvelden. En time
etter tannpussing og deretter, med mellomrom på to timer ble
det foretatt gram-reagensutsmøring på tannflatene for å påvise nærværet av bakterieceller på basis av intensiteten av den
fiolette farge som er karakteristisk for de gram-positive bakterier som f.eks. Streptococcus mutans.
Resultatet av testene for hver gruppe av personer er gjengitt i de etterfølgende tabeller.
Det fremgår av de foregående tabeller at den metodiske bruk av det lysozymholdige tannpleiemiddel i løpet av kort tid fører til nesten fullstendig fjernelse av gjærings-mikroorganismene fra tannfilmen og de mulige caries-fremmende midler reduseres således betraktelig.
Claims (2)
1. Tannpleiemiddel med caries-forhindrende antibakteriell virkning,
karakterisert ved at det inneholder lysozym som en aktiv bestanddel.
2. Tannpleiemiddel som angitt i krav 1,
karakterisert ved at det inneholder lysozym i en mengde på fra 1 til 4 vekt%.
