Abstract

This invention discloses a new type of steel plate and concrete composite tank unit, tank group and offshore platforms. The tank unit comprises the following components, 1) outer concrete tank that is composed of an outer tank shell, two heads and ring shell connections at both ends, 2) inner steel tank that is composed of an inner tank shell, epitaxial structures at both ends of inner tank. Inner tank shell is connected to the outer tank shell by epitaxial structures, 3) isolation layer that is formed from the gap between the outer tank and the inner tank where it is filled with isolation medium. This invention has advantages of high tensile and compressive strengths, high structure strength, little technology challenge and low complexity on construction, short construction period, low cost, easy maintenance, and so on.
