Abstract

The polymer solution may comprise an aqueous polyvinylpyrrolidone solution and the activator may comprise a formate lake. In one embodiment, the polymer solution and activator are contacted prior to completion (completion) of a wellbore operation. In other embodiments, they are brought into contact before completing a primary or secondary cementing operation in the well. When desired, the precipitate can be easily and quickly removed from the formation by dissolving it in fresh water.
