Abstract

Det er beskrevet et system for optisk posisjonsovervåkning. Systemet har et optisk avfølingsorgan anordnet på et brannrør, slik som produksjonsrøret eller foringsrøret. Når et verktøy som omfatter et drivorgan, virker på det optiske avfølingsorganet, blir et optisk signal returnert fra det optiske avfølingsorganet for å indikere posisjonen til verktøyet. Det optiske avfølingsorganet kan innbefatte en optisk fiber og/eller en hvilken som helst kjent optisk sensor. Drivorganet kan være en kraftpåføringsanordning eller en varmepåføringsanordning.
