Abstract

The apparatus comprises a main body with a bore therethrough, a first end, a rigid section and an outer surface adapted for connection to first and second pipe sections. A first beveled section may be provided on the first end of the body portion, and the first end portion of the body portion may be adapted to be housed within the first section of coil tubes. A second beveled section may be provided on the other end of the body portion, and the other end portion of the body portion may be adapted to be disposed within the second section of the spool tube. First and second beveled sections may be provided with outer and inner beveled surfaces. By connecting two coil tubes using a connector as shown herein, the result is cost savings achieved through an improved joint between two coil tubes that will withstand bending forces exerted near the joint in a manner believed to be superior to joints formed by prior coil connectors.
