Abstract

Injectable depot compositions are disclosed which comprise a polymer matrix having a plurality of biodegradable biocompatible polymers wherein each polymer of the plurality of polymers has a specified weight average molecular weight; and the polymer matrix has a broad molecular weight distribution of the majority of polymers; a solvent having a miscibility in water of less than or equal to 7% by weight at 25 DEG C., in an amount effective to soften the polymer by forming a gel therewith and an advantageous agent. The compositions have significantly improved shear thinning behavior and reduced injection power, making the compositions easily implantable under a patient's body surface at injection.
