Abstract

Det beskrives en fremgangsmåte for fjerning av gassformige organosvovelforbindelser, fortrinnsvis THT, fra brenselgasstrømmer. Fremgangsmåten omfatter å bringe gasstrømmen i kontakt med en adsorbent, med et leiremineral fra hormittgruppen så som palygorskitt, attapulgitt, sepiolitt og paramontmorilionitt som adsorbent. Fortrinnsvis er leiremineralet sepiolitt og brenselgasstrømmen omfatter naturgass. På denne måte kan svært store gassvolumer renses for en forlenget periode ved hjelp av en miljømessig gunstig og kostnadsbillig adsorbent. Oppfinnelsen vedrører også en fremgangsmåte hvor leiremineralet tilveiebringes med et metallsalt eller metalloksid, eller en fremgangsmåte hvor leiremineralet kombineres med en andre adsorbent.
