Description
Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår et ved f6ring av drøv-
tyggere anvendbart f6rtillegg som øker blodets sukkerinnhold og melkeproduksjonen hos kuer.
Organismen trenger for sitt stoffskifte lettoppløselige carbohydrater, fremfor alt forskjellige slags sukker, av
hvilke glucose er det viktigste. Hos enmavede dyr spaltes de høymolekylære hydrocarboner som stivelse, til sukker ved
hjelp av fordøyelsesvæskene. i tarmen. Hos drøvtyggere skjer samme spaltning allerede i formavene, fremfor alt i vommen,
ved innvirkning av mikrober. Disse carbohydrater samt annet i f6ret inngående sukker utnyttes som energikilde av mikrobene og går altså over i en mikrobemasse og øker ikke direkte
sukkertilførselen til organismen.
Dyr, også drøvtyggere, trenger sukker nærmest for leverens
og melkekjertlenes.funksjoner. Glucosen går i kuas jur over i melkesukker og går ut av dyret sammen med melken. Hos en ku med en daglig melkeproduksjon på 30 kg betyr dette en glucbse-
mengde på ca. 1500 g, som utgår daglig. Under iakttagelse av dyrets øvrige behov har man beregnet sukkerbehovet til
ca. 2000 g/dag hos en middels stor, maksimalt produserende ku.
Leverens oppgave er å tilgodese denne sukkermengde. Eftersom
ingen nevneverdige mengder sukker, særlig glucose, passerer forbi vommen, må leveren hos drøvtyggerne produsere glucose.
Viktige glucosekilder er propionsyren i vommen samt organismens glucosesyntese fra eggehvitestoffer og melkesyre. Man har imidlertid beregnet sukkerunderskuddet hos en ku som melker 30 kg melk pr. dag til ca. 700 g. Dette underskudd strever
dyret med å kompensere ved nedbrytning av organismens fett-
arter. Herved dannes glycerol som går over til glucose, men også fettsyrer som igjen ved sin nedbrytning danner aceton-
skjelett. Dyret kan sykne hen i ketose hvis fettnedbrytningen er for omfattende.
Når dyrets glucosebehov kan sikres, minsker fettvevenes ned-brytningshastighet, hvilket dog ikke i alminnelighet er tilstrekke-lig til å opprettholde glucoseinnholdet i blodet.
Jurenes glucoseinnhold inntar en sentral stilling ved melke-reguleringen. Hvis jurvevet inneholder store mengder glucose, absorberer cellene væske osmotisk fra blodet for å utjevne det osmotiske trykk. Melkemengden øker altså. Hvis sukkermengden er liten, skjer det motsatte fenomen.
Da høyforedlede drøvtyggere i dag sjelden formår å tilgodese sitt glucosebehov, har man tydd til forhjelpemidler. Drøvtyggerne er blitt f6ret med glucogene tilleggsstoffer som ikke nedbrytes i vommen, men passerer denne intakt til de efterfølgende mave-avdelinger og derefter videre til leveren, hvor de omdannes til sukker. Man kan også forsøke å øke vommens propionsyreinnhold,
da propionsyren i leveren omdannes til effektiv glucose. Til dette formål er det kjént å anvende følgende stoffer: propylenglycol, glycerol, forskjellige propionater, t.o.m. propionsyre.
Det har nu overraskende ifølge oppfinnelsen vist seg at et for drøvtyggere beregnet fortillegg med høyt sukkeralkohol-innhold, som fordelaktig forekommer i den blanding av forskjellige sukkeralkoholer som erholdes som biprodukt ved bjerkesukker-,
dvs. xylitolfremstillingen fra vekstmaterialer, vesentlig for-bedrer glucosebalansen hos drøvtyggere da det forholder seg på samme måte som ovennevnte glucogene stoffer. F6rtilleggets kjennetegn fremgår av patentkravet.
Et fordelaktig fortillegg inneholder xylitol, arabitol, dulcitol og eventuelt ramnitol.
Fortillegget ifølge oppfinnelsen inneholder en sukkeralkoholblanding og en fordelaktig slik blanding kan finnes i det biprodukt som fåes ved xylitolfremstilling fra bjerk. Den er en gullbrun, søt væske med en spesifikk vekt på ca. 1,22 i en 50%-ig vannoppløsning ved værelsetemperatur. Dens kaloriverdi og søthetsgrad tilsvarer glucose. Sammensetningen av produktet, beregnet på tørrstoffet, er stort sett følgende:...
Ved senere prosesser er xylitolutvinningen forbedret, og sammensetningen kan variere innen følgende grenser:
Det er kjent fra litteraturen at f.eks. xylitol stimulerer leveren og øker celleaktiviteten. Det er også kjent at munnens mikrober ikke formår å utnytte xylitol som energikilde.
Foreliggende oppfinnelse baserer seg imidlertid på den tid-ligere ukjente iakttagelse at sukkeralkoholene bevares til-strekkelig lenge, selv under vomforhold, hvilket fremgår av de i eksempel 1 angitte forsøksresultater.
Eksempel 1
I eksempel 1 er de enkelte sukkeralkoholers nedbrytning i vomvæsken studert in vit ro.
Sukkeralkoholenes stabilitet i vomvæsken (% av tilført mengde):
Det fremgår at angjeldende sukkeralkoholer er bibeholdt intakt så godt som fullstendig i 8 timer, xylitol, arabitol og dulcitol t.o.m. i 24 timer, og arabitol og xylitol delvis endog lengre. Vanlig sukker nedbrytes t.o.m. innen 2 timer.
Eksempel 2
I dette eksempel ble undersøkt stabiliteten hos en sukkeralkoholblanding med sammensetningen: i vomvæsken, og det ble funnet at den tilsvarer de enkelte sukkeralkoholers stabilitet.
Da oppholdstiden av væsker i vommen bare er noen timer, vinner sukkeralkoholene å nå de senere raaveavdelinger innen noen vesentlig nedbrytning i vommen finner sted.
Efter å ha passert vommen forholder sukkeralkoholene seg normalt i sukkermaterialeomsetningen, hvilket f.eks. ytrer seg i en forhøyelse av blodglucoseinnholdet som det fremgår av eksempel 3.
Eksempel 3
Variasjonene i blodglucoseinnholdet
Under normal foring sank forsøksdyrets glucoseinnhold kon-
tinuerlig og var innen forsøksforingen ble påbegynt allerede under 3 mmol/l. Doseringen av en sukkeralkoholblanding ifølge eks-
empel 2 i en mengde på 2 x 125 g tørrstoff ble påbegynt på forsøks-periodens 17. dag. Blodets glucoseverdi viste en forhøyelse allerede samme dag. Efter en ukes forsøksforing steg glucoseinn-
holdet til den verdi det hadde ved begynnelsen av forsøksperioden.
Utad sett steg dyrets generelle kondisjon til det normale.
Fettprosenten i melken hos det undersøkte forsøksdyr vari-
erte før doseringen av sukkeralkoholblandingen nesten 2% daglig og var i gjennomsnitt 4,5%. Efter påbegynnelse av forsøksforingen sank fettprosenten i løpet av 2 dager til den for dyret spesifikke verdi, dvs. under 4,0%. Samtidig ble de daglige variasjoner ube-
tydelige.
Man kunne konstatere at forsøksdyret i eksempel 3 oppviste en
i så høy grad forstyrret energi- og fremfor alt sukkermateriale-
omsetning at der forelå fare for at dyret skulle ha pådratt seg
ketose hvis ikke forsøksforingen var påbegynt og dyrets sukker-materialeomsetning derved ble tilbakeført til det normale.
Ved å innvirke på vomfunksjonen ved økning av propionsyre-produksjonen på bekostning av eddiksyre og smørsyre, kan sukkermaterialeomsetningen hos drøvtyggere forbedres eftersom propionsyren i organismen omdannes til" ytterst effektiv glucose.
Eksempel 4 belyser innvirkningen av en sukkeralkoholblanding på vommens fettsyreproduksjon. En økning av eddiksyreinnholdet innebærer et energitap da dens videre omdannelse gir opphav til carbondioxyd som avgår uutnyttet fra organismen. Propionsyren omdannes derimot i sin helhet til glucose.
Eksempel 4
Ved hjelp av med sonde tatte vomprøver ble forandringene
av eddiksyre- (E) og propionsyreinnholdene (Pr) i vomvæsken studert . Ved begynnelsen av forsøksperioden steg innholdet av E mens innholdet av Pr sank. Efter at forsøksforingen ble innledet, vendte forholdet seg til det motsatte. Utad sett kviknet dyret til merkbart.
Forsøksstadiene 1-3 tilsvarte vinterforing med basisfor, hvorved man under foringen kunne merke tegn på begynnende ubalanse i sukkermaterialeomsetningen, i trinn 4 fikk dyret en sukkeralkoholblanding med en sammensetning svarende til den i eksempel 2, 1 en mengde på 2 x 125 g tørrsubstans pr. dag, i trinn 5 var dosen 2 x 250 g tørrsubstans pr. dag, og i trinn 6 var dosen 2 x 200 g tørrsubstans pr. dag beregnet som tørr sukkeralkohol pr. dyr.
■ Man kan konstatere at vommens propionsyreproduksjon øket med over 100 g/dag takket være sukkeralkoholblandingen. Det meste av sukkeralkoholblandingen passerte imidlertid gjennom vommen uten å spaltes . "■■ >■■
Eksempel 5
En ku som allerede hadde passert sitt topproduksjonsstadium efter kalving, ble gitt en sukkeralkoholholdig (se eksempel 2) oppløsning i en mengde på 0,4 l/dag. Oppløsningens sammensetning var følgende:
Melkemengden øket tydelig, og økningen var under forsøksforingen, som pågikk i. ca. 4 uker, 0,1 kg/dag. Forsøksdyret hadde allerede passert sitt produksjonsmaksimum da forsøksforingen ble påbegynt, hvorfor energibehovet i form av glucose allerede hadde minsket fra sin største verdi. Uaktet dette øket produksjonen. Hos et dyr hos hvilket melkeproduksjonen øker, kan tilsvarende forsøk ikke utføres da man ikke kan si hvilken del av produksjons-økningen er en følge av produksjonsstadiet og hvilket er en følge av tilleggsforet.
Som bærer bestanddel eller f 6 r bestanddel for tilleggsblandingen anvendes med fordelet bi- eller restprodukt fra en eller annen næringsmiddelfremstillingsprosess, som melasse. I blandingen kan også inkorporeres i og for seg kjente glucogene stoffer, som f.eks. propylenglycol, hvorved andelen av sukkeralkoholblandingen ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse kan minskes i tilsvarende grad. Sukkeralkoholblandingens andel er dog alltid minst IO vekt%, beregnet på blandingens tørrstoffinnhold.
Tilleggsblandingen ifølge oppfinnelsen kan anvendes i form av en oppløsning, hvorved den pakkes i passende beholdere og doseres direkte i forbindelse med foringen. Den passende daglige dosering av sukkeralkohol ef 40 - 500 g pr. dyr beregnet på tørr-vekten. Tilleggsmaterialet kan også tørres og tilføres f.eks. fabrikkfremstilt for, eller anvendes som sådant som sekkvare.
Claims (2)
1. Fårtillegg for drøvtyggere som særlig øker blodets sukkerinnhold og melkeproduksjonen,
karakterisert ved at—det-foruten en i og for seg kjent forbestanddel og eventuelt kjente glucogene materialer, inneholder minst 10 vekt% av én eller flere av de fem- og/eller seksverdige sukkeralkoholer xylitol, arabitol, mannitol, sorbitol, galaxitol, dulcitol eller ramnitol, beregnet på blandingens tørrvekt.
2. Fortillegg ifølge krav 1,
karakterisert ved at sukkeralkoholfraksjonens sammensetning, beregnet på tørrstoffbasis, er xylitol 15 - 25%, arabitol 20 - 35%, mannitol 15 - 25%, sorbitol 5 - 15%,
dulcitol 5 - 10% og ramnitol 5 - 10%.
