Abstract

Movement of the column causes changes in a magnetic field, which are detected and used to control the vehicle. The column and the electrical system is described in parent NL 8002727, and the present patent offers an improved mechanical system by which the column is returned to the neutral position when released. The column, which can move up and down through a spherical pivot bearing and a bearing sleeve, must be pressed down before it can be operated.
