Abstract
The wind-powered machine has a bladed wheel on a vertical axis, and bulkheads positioned so as to make maximum use of the wind. The bulkheads can be arranged to swing automatically to suit the wind direction and the wheel not to increase speed above a safe wind force. Speed limitation can be effected solely by spring flaps and a fixed bulkhead. Speed limitation of the wheel can be adjusted at three points, independently of each other, and the flaps can be part of the bulkheads.
