Abstract

The fluorescent lamp unit includes a base or socket section connectable for the purpose of electric supply to an electric bulb holder socket. There is also a partially transparent light permeable housing or cover section connected to the socket section consisting of at least two housing or cover sections at least one of which can be detached from the other section. The lamp unit uses a hot cathode-vacuum-mercury vapour discharge tube with a connecting section (10) and a fluorescent inner coating. In addition a holder provides a detachable fixing for the tube inside the housing or cover. An electric switch system contg. a light starter device (4), connects the socket section to the connecting section (10).
