Abstract

A demagnetisation circuit for use in colour TV receiver comprises a demagnetisation coil in series with a thermistor connected to the mains supply. The thermistor is heated by a second thermistor acting as protection for the receiver power supply rectifier circuit. The circuit comprises a coil (1) in series with a positive temperature coefficient thermistor (2) connected via the receiver power switch (6) to an AC mains supply (5). The thermistor is heated by a negative temperature coefficient thermistor (7) also connected to the mains supply. This thermistor provides protecting for the receiver rectifier (9) and power supply smoothing circuit (10, 11).
