Abstract

Hydrothermally hardened mouldings e.g. pellets, or granulates, contain a binder of calcium oxide - and silicon oxide - with chemical reaction components. The mechanical strength can vary up to a compressive strength of hundreds of kg/cm2 while the density may be 1.3-2.0 kg/litre. Suitable reactans which can be incorporated in teh granulate or mouldings are e.g. clay, sand, carbon black, carbon, inorganic pigments, finely divided metals and alloys, specific plastics, ores, phosphate ore, fluxes etc. The particle dias. can vary between pre-determined limits. They can be used as additives to cement or concrete.
