Abstract

The single-point mooring buoy has a vertical column pivoting on an anchor and with one or more rigid column sections extending vertically from the latter, and on the top end of which the body of the buoy pivots. Most of the buoy is below water level. The weights and dimensions of each rigid section of the column are such that their bending period is less than six seconds, while the movement period of the buoy body, determined by its weight and dimensions is greater than 16 seconds. There can be a space for ballast in the buoy body, which can be completely submered, with a thin pole mounted on it and extending above water level.
