Abstract

The plate-type heater element is for making coffee etc. and has a water passage inside it connected at one end to a tank and at the other to a standpipe supplying a coffee filter. The portion of the passage (4) connected to the standpipe is inclined upwards towards it, and the same can also apply to the portion connected to the tank, the angle being 4 deg. to the horizontal in each case. The passage can be of U-section, the two inclined portions running parallel to each other. The upper wall of each inclined portion of the passage can join directly onto the intermediate portion between them, and the intermediate portion can be open to the bottom and closed by a cover.
