Abstract

The block is of porous material, in particular granular concrete, and has one or more protrusions on the front face (2). One of the faces of this protrusion is at an angle of less than 55 deg., preferably between 35 and 45 deg. to the plane of the lower face of the block. The other face can be parallel to this plane. There can be two protrusions, one directly above the other, on the block face, and there can be a recess (3) in its underside. A horizontal chamber (4) can also be formed inside it. A wall made from these blocks can have them joined together by mortar only along the horizontal faces, the rear of the wall being covered by hard material of low porosity.
