Abstract

The arrangement consists of a number of separate sectional units which, when interconnected end to end, form a load-bearing beam structure which, by addition of a wheel and axle assembly at one end and tractor saddle support means at the other end, form a complete trailer. The upper deck surfaces (11) of the sections are in contact with one another, and, with or without reinforcing means, are capable of withstanding the compression forces under full load. The lower ends of the sections are interconnected, together with built-in or separate tensile elements or using a set of long un-interrupted tensile members (7) secured to the lower ends of the sections, so that they are capable of absorbing the tensile forces under load.
