Abstract

The instrument comprises a vertical measuring rod for the shoe, and a corresponding horizontal rule or glass plate on which the foot is placed. A marking can be provided on the latter indicating the exact shoe length, and the extra amount necessary to accommodate the foot. The design affords a quick method of selecting the correct size, without using X-ray apparatus. The glass support plate may be illuminated underneath, the vertical measuring rod is connected by means fo a thin steel wire to the horizontal indicator device.
