Abstract

Centrifugal pump for waste water with solid components which can be reduced, consists of a pump housing contng. rotating pump vanes, a coaxial intake opening in a cross wall of the pump housing and an outlet opening in the peripheral section of the housing. The vanes have a straight edge on the side facing the intake opening and this is arranged in a plane normal to the vane shaft and seals with the end part of the shaft. A diametrically running cutter bar is fitted in the intake opening and the cutting edge lies only a little way from the plane spanned by the blade edges so that on blade rotation, a cutting action can be achieved between the blade bottom edges and the edge of the cutter bar.
