Abstract

The machine is particularly for filling flowerpots with earth in nurseries and compressing it. A first conveyor handles the pots, and a second one above it the earth. The two are so positioned in relation to each other that the earth is compressed in the pots as these travel between them. The conveyors can both comprise belts, driven in opposite directions at the same speed. A scraper can be provided, to keep the earth in the pots to a set height before compression takes place. The second conveyor can be adjustable for height to suit different sizes of pots. A hopper can be provided above the second conveyor, so as to deposit the earth evenly on it.
