Abstract

A device for the extraction of samples of effluent from a channel containing liquid effluent which may contain suspended solids to give a sample of constant volume representative of the composition of the effluent, including any suspended particles. Device has a vertical pipe section passing through a block bored to the same cross-section as the pipe which can be slid sideways so as effectively to transfer the contents of a fixed length of the pipe to a discharge point where the sample runs out into a sample collection pipe.
