Abstract

A tampon applicator comprises an outer sleeve adjacent to the tampon, within which is a displaceable inner sleeve, the ejector end of which is adjacent to the withdrawal end of the tampon. The front end of the outer sleeve, in the direction of insertion, is also adjacent to the withdrawal end of the tampon, which is enclosed at least at the periphery of its withdrawal end, together with the outer sleeve and at least part of the end of the inner sleeve projecting out from the outer sleeve, in an envelope of relatively tear-resistant but elastic, extensible plastic material.
