Abstract

The sensor, whose output signal represents indicated temp. Tm is embedded in a mass of thermally conductive material of thermal capacity Cm, esp. is not 30 J/degrees C, within which is embedded a resistance or Peltier effect heater, to which compensating energy W is fed, calculated by the formula: W = Cm dTm/dt In this way Tm is made much more closely approximate to the true temp. TR. Specif. the error is reduced to less than approx. ca 1 degree in 80 degrees C after 5 mins. operation c.f. >6 degrees without compensation. Esp. for use in temp. measurement of dirty media whose temp. is variable.
