Abstract

Prefabricated building element consists of a curable material such as concrete, at least one side face being provided with a prefabricated, unitary joint sealing strip (2) of elastic material, such as neoprene, this strip being embedded and fastened within the mass of the building element (1), while the other part of the strip outside the side face (7) of the building element projects into a position at a distance from the face. The building element with the integral joint sealing strip can be simply and economically produced. The joints between adjoining building elements are effectively sealed by means of the sealing strip, which remains intact under practically all conditions. A suitable alignment for the joint strip is easily obtained during the production of the building element.
