VloersysteemFloor system
Floor system and method for separating a thin and a thick fraction of manure.
The present invention relates to a floor system and method for separating a thin (liquid) and a thick (solid) fraction from animal manure.
The separation of a thin and a thick fraction of animal manure is known per se from the prior art. The Dutch patent NL 9101388 describes an inclined surface 10 which flows into a gutter, which gutter opens into a storage tank in which the thin fraction of the manure deposited by the animals is collected separately from the thick fraction.
The Dutch patent NL 1037409 shows a pig shed in which a manure separator is arranged under a grid plate, wherein the thin fraction flows away and the thick fraction is discharged by a manure screw conveyor.
The Dutch patent NL 1013097 describes an integrated animal husbandry system, in which a grid floor is shown with a structure with slots therein for allowing a liquid fraction to pass through.
However, there are various disadvantages to the systems according to the prior art. Where use is made of a conveyor, it often extends over such a surface of the shed that the system is cost-inefficient and it also happens that only a part of the manure appears to end up for slots intended for this purpose so that it quickly clogs up. which requires labor-intensive cleaning processes. Finally, it is often impossible to prevent at least a part of the manure from entering the same storage tank unseparated, as a result of which ammonia formation occurs.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to eliminate at least a part of the aforementioned disadvantages, or to offer a usable alternative to the state of the art.
22
To this end, the invention comprises a floor system for a shed, comprising at least one slope surface, for collecting and slipping manure to a lower side thereof, and a conveyor belt extending below the lowest side of the surface for collecting and discharging the manure. It is thereby possible for there to be several slopes that run to the same conveyor belt, so that the conveyor belt is provided with manure from several sides. It is furthermore conceivable that several of the floor systems described above are present in one shed, in order to provide the entire shed with an effective manure discharge. The conveyor belt ensures regular removal of collected manure and prevents accumulation.
1010
Use of a slope according to the present invention means that the conveyor belt does not have to extend over the entire length or width of that part of the shed over which the removal of manure is desirable. This saves costs and improves the rapid separation between the thick and thin fraction of the manure.
1515
In an embodiment of the present invention, the slope is between 0 and 5 percent, and preferably between 2 and 3 percent. This embodiment is particularly suitable for a cattle shed or a cubicle shed, where relatively liquid manure and mainly urine can slide along the relatively small slope. It is not difficult for cows to learn how to get rid of stools at certain locations. This means that manure must be able to be discharged virtually over the entire surface of the shed, while it must also be possible for the cows to stand over almost the entire shed surface. A large slope is therefore not necessary for use in a cattle shed. Nor is it necessary to use grid plates 25 in combination with a larger slope, although it is preferable to regularly move a slider intended for this purpose over the surfaces in order to direct accumulated manure to the conveyor belt.
In this embodiment, the width of a gap is preferably further between at least two planes with a slope, under which the conveyor belt extends, between 1 and 4 cm, and in particular between 2 and 3 cm. When a conveyor belt is provided with manure from at least two sides, a gap is created between the two faces with a slope. This gap is such that a cow cannot get stuck. If the gap is more than 4 cm, a manure-permeable grid can be placed in the gap, so that cows cannot get stuck in that gap either. The narrow gap between the sloping surfaces also ensures a very small emitting surface of the manure. For a further limitation of the ammonia emission through the slit, the slit can be provided with sealing rubber flaps.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the floor system comprises a grid that extends above at least a portion of the at least one slope to form a manure-permeable standing surface. In contrast to cattle, 10 pigs and calves usually do not walk on dense floors with a manure slide, but on grates. Pigs and calves are usually located in different smaller pens spread over the stable, which makes sliding with a slider difficult. In those cases it is possible to increase the slope of the at least one surface considerably, because it no longer serves to support the animals, but only to cause the manure ejected by the animals to slide off. When the animals are walking on a different structure, for example made of PVC, PP, PE, HDPE or stainless steel, the areas with a slope are more important that the surface is smooth, absorbs little to no moisture and is acid-resistant.
In one embodiment, the slope is an angle between 5 and 70 degrees, and preferably between 20 and 70 degrees. The greater the percentage, the more efficient the slurry slipping, whereby a trade-off must be made between the width of the conveyor belt, the number of conveyor belts and the slope of the surface. When use is made of aids to dislodge the manure from the surface, the angle can be kept small.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the conveyor belt is provided with screen openings, for passing a relatively thin fraction of the manure, and transporting a remaining, relatively thick fraction of the manure. To prevent the formation of ammonia and methane gases, it is important to separate the thick and thin fraction of the manure as efficiently as possible at the earliest possible stage. To this end, the manure is collected by a conveyor belt with screen openings, through which the thin fraction can pass, but the thick fraction cannot. Sieving the fractions during transport ensures an improved rapid separation of the 4 different fractions, among other things due to the movements occurring during transport.
In one embodiment the screen openings are larger than 0.2 mm, and in particular larger than 0.4 mm in diameter. This is due to the filtering properties of the conveyor belt. If the openings were smaller, the surface tension of the thin fraction would prevent the thin fraction from running through the screen openings. However, the openings must not be so large that a thick fraction can fall through the openings. The different screen openings can be adjusted per animal species and / or age of the animals in order to achieve an optimal separation. For example, relatively large openings can be used for pigs because pig faeces are relatively dry. Young calves, on the other hand, have very thin faeces and therefore require relatively small screen openings for proper separation of fractions.

In an embodiment of the present invention, the conveyor belt is designed as a switching belt. Linking belts offer the advantage that the openings can be properly regulated and the tires are robust and low in maintenance. Plastic link belts can be used in particular, for instance of a polypropylene, polyethylene or polyacetal material and / or provided with wear strips. The wear strips are preferably stainless steel wear strips due to the acidic and not clean situation. The bands could also be designed as a spiral band. In an embodiment in which the conveyor belts are not provided with openings, use can be made of a conveyor belt with a spherical shape. The spherical shape ensures that a thin fraction runs along the spherical shape, while a thick fraction remains on top of the spherical shape.
In an embodiment the floor system comprises a spraying system, for spraying at least a part of the surface with a spraying means, for urging the manure from the slope. When the manure is sticky, and / or the at least one surface is placed under a limited slope, it can happen that the manure sticks to the surface.
In order to ensure that this manure is nevertheless moved to the conveyor belt, it is possible to spray with a spraying agent through which the manure is sprayed off the wall, and towards the conveyor belt. The spraying serves to clean the surface, so that the fresh urine can flow off and possibly mix with the manure on the surface. The spraying means can be, for example, rain water or rinsing water from the stable.
In one embodiment, the spraying agent comprises an acid for preventing ammonia formation. Such an acid helps to prevent ammonia formation and can be used to prevent the formation of ammonia in storage tanks with a thick and thin fraction. The acid can be, for example, an inorganic acid such as hydrochloric acid, nitric acid or sulfuric acid, or an organic acid.
1010
In an embodiment of the present invention, the spraying system is adapted to add at least a portion of the filtered thin fraction to the spraying means. Because the conveyor belt causes an early separation of thick and thin fraction, it is possible to use the collected and filtered thin fraction as a spraying agent, optionally acidified with an acid for reducing ammonia formation. In this way a more environmentally friendly solution that requires fewer external additions is achieved.
In one embodiment, a slider is provided for urging the manure from the slope to the conveyor belt. Manure can also be pushed off the slope by means of a slider. The slider is sloped over the at least one surface and pushes or pulls the manure in the direction of the conveyor belt to increase the amount of manure that lands on the conveyor belt.
In an embodiment of the present invention, at least a portion of the spraying system is provided on the slider. Instead of on the at least one sloping surface, the spraying system can also be arranged on the slider, the spraying system applying a layer of spraying means to the manure to simplify movement to the conveyor belt. The spraying system also prevents a film layer of manure from remaining after sliding.
The present invention also relates to a method for separating manure, comprising the steps of collecting manure on a sloping surface in the direction of a conveyor belt and separating a thick and thin layer by means of screen openings 6 in the conveyor belt a thin fraction of the manure. In this way a separation of thin and thick fraction of the manure is achieved at the earliest possible stage, which counteracts the formation of ammonia thanks to greatly reduced urease activity.
55
In one embodiment, the method comprises spraying the slope with a spraying agent, in particular at least a part of the thin fraction. Spraying the slope with a spraying agent increases the amount of separated manure and offers the possibility of spraying with agents that prevent ammonia from forming. These agents can be used with the optional addition of already separated thin fraction. Suitable additions for this purpose include an anti-foaming agent to prevent the mixture from foaming, an acid for shifting the equilibrium reaction of ammonia, for example by inorganic acids such as hydrochloric acid, nitric acid or sulfuric acid. Use could also be made of salts that precipitate bases, such as CaCl 2, or biological acidification by inoculating and / or stimulating microorganisms producing organic acids such as lactic acid or acetic acid, or adding an organic acid. In one embodiment, it is not sprayed with filtered thin fraction, but use is made of collected rainwater or flushing water from the stable.
2020
The floor system can also be provided with a slider (not shown) for urging the manure from the surface to the conveyor belt, on which at least a part of the spraying system can be located.
2525
In the embodiments from both Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, the conveyor belt relates to an endless conveyor belt, wherein between a back and back side the 6A, 6B 19A, 19B discharge partitions 12, 20 are also provided with a slope for discharging through the thin fraction of the top of the tire.
3030
In both embodiments, a scraper 11 can be provided on the back side of the belt for scraping off the non-transmitted thick fraction from the conveyor belt 6, 19, whether or not in combination with brushes 10 and further nozzles are provided for cleaning of the band 6, 19.
77
In one embodiment, pressure rollers are provided on the front side of the conveyor belt for pressing a thin fraction from the manure onto the belt. The pressure rollers exert a pressure on the manure, as a result of which the thin fraction present is pressed out of the mixture in order to further separate the mixture.
The invention also relates to a method for separating manure, comprising the steps of collecting manure on a sloping surface towards a conveyor belt and separating one thick and one with the aid of screen openings in the conveyor belt. thin fraction of the manure. The bottom slope provides a first separation of the thin and thick fraction of manure, with the screen openings in the conveyor belt causing a second separation.
In one embodiment the method comprises spraying the slope with a spraying agent, in particular at least a part of the thin fraction. In this way, collected and possibly filtered thin fraction is reused in the system.
De optimale verwerkingstemperatuur is 30 a 40 graden celcius en PH waarde van 8 a 8,5.In one embodiment of the method, the thin fraction of the manure undergoes a post-processing step after separation, the step comprising at least one of the following steps: forming potassium struvite, for example by adding magnesium oxide and forming boussingaulite, for example by addition of magnesium sulfate. The purpose of forming a boussingaulite is to recover the nitrogen. By aerating the manure and then washing with magnesium sulfate, boussingaulite (NH 4) 2 SO 4 * MgSO 4 * 6H 2 O is formed. The purpose of forming potassium struvite is to recover the fast-acting ammonia nitrogen and the mineral potassium. In a reaction vessel, the thin fraction must be stirred or continuously mixed by aeration to maintain a homogeneous mixture. Aeration has the advantage that it cannot settle on solid parts. Magnesium oxide, calcium magnesium or a good substitute is added to this mixture. Preferably in an already partially liquid state (emulsion-like state). After addition, the potassium struvite will arise. This struvite can be separated with a cyclone separator. The optimum processing temperature is 30 to 40 degrees Celsius and PH value of 8 to 8.5.
88
Both of the above-described processing steps are well applicable for the following reasons. Thanks to the rapid and separate removal of the thin fraction from the shed, little nitrogen is lost due to ammonia volatilization. The vast majority of the ammonia nitrogen and the potassium are also in the thin fraction. This means that these 5 processes can be applied effectively. Because only the thin fraction needs to be processed. An additional advantage is the low organic matter content in the thin fraction, which promotes the process. A relatively large amount of fertilizer-replacing boussingaulite can also be produced. The latter advantages also apply to the formation of potassium struvite.

In an embodiment of the present invention, the thick fraction of the manure undergoes a post-processing step after separation, the step comprising at least one of the following steps: fermenting for generating energy, drying by wind and / or sun and adding from moisture-absorbing materials such as straw. The energy from fermenting the thick fraction could be used to further dry and / or granulate the manure. Because fresh manure from the stable can be used, more gas can also be extracted. After all, fresh manure has had less opportunity to enter into other reactions. The thick fraction can be dried using natural wind and sun drying. Thanks to the early separation, the proportion of ammonia nitrogen in the thick fraction is low, allowing drying and storage in the open air under strict environmental conditions. As a result, the thick fraction on, for example, drying belts under a canopy in the outside air is possible. Consideration can also be given to the use of ambient energy for the system. For example, heat energy from solar collectors could also be used to dry the thick fraction.
The invention will now be explained with reference to the following figures, in which: Figure 1 shows an application of the invention for a cattle shed; and - Figure 2 shows an application of a cleaning installation; and Figure 3 shows an application of the invention for a pig and calf shed.
Figure 1 shows in its entirety a floor system 1 for a cowshed shed according to the present invention, comprising two surfaces 2, 3 with a slope, for collecting and causing manure to slide off to a lowest side 2a, 3a 4. Between the surfaces 2, 9, there is a gap 7 of approximately 4 cm, in which a grid 5 is provided. A conveyor belt 6 for collecting and discharging the manure 4 extends below this grid 5. The grid is of such a nature that all manure that has fallen onto it is passed through and falls onto conveyor belt 6.
55
The conveyor belt 6 is provided with screen openings (not shown), for passing through a relatively thin fraction of the manure, and transporting a remaining, relatively thick fraction of the manure. The conveyor belt is designed as a link belt, which results in a robust construction. Between the top side (6A) and bottom side 10 (6B), a discharge partition 8 is provided for discharging the passed thin fraction.
Figure 2 shows nozzles 9, brushes 10 and a scraper 11 for cleaning the conveyor belt 6. In the figure shown, the back side of the conveyor belt 6B is stripped of manure. In a similar manner, pressure rollers could be placed, for example, on the front side 6A of the conveyor belt for pressing out manure collected and transported onto the belt.
Figure 3 shows a second embodiment 13 of a floor system according to the present invention, intended for pigs and calves, wherein a grid 14 extends above two slopes 15 and 16, to form a manure-permeable standing surface.
In this embodiment the slope 15, 16 makes an angle between 20 and 70 degrees with the horizontal, in order to promote the drainage of the manure to the lowest point of the slope. Such a large angle of inclination is not suitable to serve directly as a floor for the cattle, but in combination with the grid 14 it can be used. Drained manure is collected and separated by conveyor belt 19 with screen openings in a manner similar to that in figure 1.
Since the plane is below slope, it is furthermore possible to use a spraying system 17, 18, for spraying at least a part of the plane below slope 15, 16 with a spraying means, for urging the manure away from the plane. Such a spraying agent can comprise an acid for preventing ammonia formation, which acid can at least partly consist of the filtered thin fraction on the spraying agent.
