Abstract
The idea of the invention relates to the arrangement of a light unit in the removable control element of the electrical system of an E-bike. The light unit consists of an orange and a red LED light and these lights are activated when a certain speed is achieved. Activating the lights is done by integrating the light unit in the housing of the removable element of the electric system of the E-bike and then connecting it to the digital speedometer of the E-bike. Two speed values are set (limit values). When the first limit value is exceeded, the orange light is automatically activated and when the second limit value is exceeded, the red light is automatically activated. The light unit is integrated in the housing of the detachable control element of the electric system of the E-bike and on the front side of this control element, in such a way that the lights are clearly visible from the front of the E-bike. For this a recess is made in the plastic housing of the detachable element. For the other road users it becomes recognizable that one is dealing with an E-biker and at the same time one is able to correctly estimate the speed of an E-biker approaching from the side. The light unit can easily be replaced by the user for a new unit. The light unit can be clicked into the detachable control element or fixed with a screw.
Description
BESCHRIJVINGDESCRIPTION
This part of the patent application contains a description of an idea that should contribute to making E-bikers safer to participate in traffic in order to reduce accidents. To be able to work out this idea and ultimately to make it concrete, it is necessary to first obtain the intellectual property. Without protecting the idea (patent), it is impossible for the inventor (applicant) to enter into discussions with parties (civil society organizations and producers) without running the risk of being sidelined entirely.
It is a fact that 3 categories of road users are more vulnerable than average in traffic. These categories are cyclists, the elderly and young people. In recent times there has been a particularly serious increase in bicycle accidents. The cause of this is the increase in the use of E-bikes. Research has since shown that per cycled kilometer even twice as many accidents occur with E-bikers as with normal bicycles. Older people in particular are showing an increase in the number of kilometers traveled since the rise of the E-bike. Given the most vulnerable categories, it is therefore not surprising that there is an increase in the number of traffic accidents with E-bike cyclists. This idea (and ultimately) the product therefore focuses primarily on E-bikers.
After obtaining a patent, parties can only be approached to make the idea applicable to every E-bike and therefore also in traffic. It is not excluded that ultimately laws and regulations will / can start to exert influence. The Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment is therefore a plausible party to approach. Implementation in its traffic policy makes the product a mandatory component on all E-bikes. The value of the idea will increase considerably and a patent is therefore necessary.
The idea is relatively simple in design and is expected to be simple to develop and produce. Either; it is easily applicable and available for all E-bikers. In essence, it means making E-bikers more visible in traffic for other road users. On the one hand, it makes the idea of an E-bike approaching, on the other hand it alerts the other road users to the speed at which the E-bike moves in view of traffic, or at what speed an E-bike is approaching. The structure of the idea is as follows:
The idea is given concrete shape through a small light unit consisting of 2 LED lights »- Seen from the front, the left light gives an orange light and the right light a red light
De E-biker ziet deze snelheid zelf ook via het display van het afneembare besturingselementThe light unit is preferably implemented in the electrical system of the Ebike s- The light unit is integrated in the housing of the digital detachable control element of the electrical system, such that the lighting on the front of the E-bike is clearly visible » The light unit is (technically) linked to / connected with the digital speedometer of the digital detachable control element. The E-biker also sees this speed through the display of the removable control element
Vanaf deze snelheid zou het oranje led-lampjeThe orange LED light is activated automatically if the driver drives above the average speed of a cyclist without pedal assistance (normal cyclist). The average speed of a normal cyclist is 16 km / p. hour. The average speed of an E-biker is now around 18.5 km / p. hour. From this speed the orange LED light would
Licht unit ter bevordering van de verkeersveiligheid van E-bikers geactiveerd kunnen wordenLight unit to promote the road safety of E-bikers can be activated
Zowel overheid als representatieve organisaties (o.a. One could think of a speed above 22 km / p. hour. If the red LED light is activated, the orange LED light automatically goes out. Under a speed of 18.5 km / p. hour no LED light is active> Final speed setting, as indicated above, is only indicative. Both the government and representative organizations (including VVN / ANWB) could still influence these speed settings. ► Mounting is such that the entire light unit can easily be replaced at the consumer level or at the dealer level. The light unit can be placed / clicked into the 60 recess provided for this purpose on the front side of the housing of the detachable digital control element
