Description
I Inrichting voor het in de aardbodem vormen van een I sleuf I De uitvinding heeft betrekking op een inrichting voor I het in de aardbodem vormen van een sleuf, zoals bijvoorbeeld I een sleuf voor energieleidingen, communicatieleidingen enzo- voorts, met een van voortbewegingsorganen voorzien gestel met I 5 daarop aangebracht ten minste één sleufvormorgaan.The invention relates to a device for forming a slot in the earth's bottom, such as, for example, a slot for energy lines, communication lines, etc., with a frame provided with propelling members with at least one slot forming member disposed thereon.
I In the past, a large number of pipes have already been laid in the earth's soil, such as telephone cables, television cables, and utility pipes. In the future too, a large number of such pipes will have to be laid in the earth. For this purpose, slots are formed in the earth's soil with devices intended for this purpose, the pipes are placed in such slots, and the slots are then closed again with the material initially removed therefrom.
Slots forming in the earth's soil can relate to both slots on the main land and slots in the seabed.
In a known device of the type to which the present invention relates, the slot forming device is formed by a rotary cutter (cutter) which in principle defines the shape of the formed slot through its circumference. With such a cutter, only a part of the circumference of the cutting head is in each case in engagement with the ground, so that large vibrations and impact loads are generated, which one tries to counteract by giving the device a high weight. It goes without saying that such a high weight is disadvantageous. In another known device, the slot forming member is formed by two adjacent circular saws, with which the side walls of the slot are formed; the material present between the cuts formed by the circular saws must be removed with an additional action to form the slot.

Because it is to be expected that the number of pipes to be laid in the earth's soil will increase further in the future, H is also looked at the areas of the earth's soil for the location of the trenches to be formed, which until now were not eligible. , such as areas with a hard surface, such as, for example, a rock bottom. It now appears that the known devices mentioned above are hardly or not at all capable of satisfactorily forming the desired slots in a hard surface (this means inter alia sufficiently quickly and at a reasonable cost).
In view of the foregoing, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved device of the type mentioned in the preamble.
For this purpose, a device for forming a slot in accordance with the present invention in the earth soil H 15 is characterized in that the slot forming member consists of at least H one drivable drill head with a, during operation of the device, substantially parallel to the direction of rotation of the device.
The applicant has realized that it surprisingly appears to be possible to use a drill head known per se, inter alia from the H oil and gas extraction, in a device for forming a trench in the soil. By H a suitable placement of such a drill head, wherein H during operation of the device the rotation axis of the drill head H is oriented substantially parallel to the direction of movement of the device, a slot can be effectively (quickly and at relatively low costs) are formed in the soil, even when the soil consists of a hard material (for example a rock bottom). Moreover, such a B-head is in engagement with the earth's bottom over its entire circumference, whereby vibrations and impact loads are prevented, and the device can have a lower weight, with all the additional advantages.
In a preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention, the drill head is movable between a working position in which the drill head is in engagement with the ground, and a rest position in which the drill head is out of engagement with the ground.
Due to such an embodiment of the device according to the invention, the versatility and applicability thereof increases in a favorable manner. For example, it is possible to move the device in its rest position over the face of the earth to a location where the slot must begin. By moving the drill bit there to the working position, it is possible to start forming the slot. However, in its rest position, the device 10 can be moved without a slot being formed.
Various possibilities exist for the mobility of the drill bit between said working position and said resting position. For example, it is possible for the drill bit to be pivotable about a pivot axis directed substantially transversely of said direction of movement. However, there is also the possibility that the transverse axis is displaceable relative to the frame. A combination of these movements can also be applied, so that, in particular while moving the drill bit from the rest position to the working position, an optimum movement of the drill bit can be obtained, which, for example, forms the beginning of a slot (wherein the drill bit must first be placed in the soil).
In another, preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention, it holds that the slot-forming member consists of a number of substantially adjacent drill heads with mutually overlapping operating ranges. The mutually overlapping operating ranges jointly define the cross section of the formed slot.
If, as is often the case, the slot must have a narrow but deep shape, it is advantageous for the drill heads to be positioned one above the other, with each drill head positioned forwardly offset relative to the immediately below drill head, counted in the direction of movement. . By such a staggered, superimposed positioning of the drill heads, a narrow, deep slot can be formed in an extremely effective manner.
With regard to the advancement of the device according to the invention, the following can be noted. The forwarding members of the frame may include caterpillars, with which the device can move independently over the earth's soil, and whereby the driving force is generated with which the drill head or drill heads move or move through the earth's soil respectively. In particular when the device according to the invention is intended for forming a slot in the seabed, the propelling members may comprise at least one propelling propeller mounted on the frame. Such a propelling screw can of course also be used in combination with the aforementioned tracks. The additional advantage of such propelling screws is that they can generate a propelling force independent of the weight of the device, which is advantageous especially on an H inclined surface. Moreover, they can also be used to position the device above a desired location before it has arrived on the seabed.
The controllability of the device can be further optimized if such a propelling screw is adjustable relative to the frame, such as, for example, about a top axis and / or a transverse axis of the frame.
In a practical embodiment of the device H according to the invention, it is provided with four H propelling screws placed substantially at the location of the corner points of a rectangle.
When the device, as noted above, is intended to form a slot in the seabed, the device will generally cooperate with a parent ship, and be connected thereto via, among other things, control and communication lines. . For example, cameras can then be mounted on the frame of the device, with which operators on the mother ship can see the working environment of the device on the seabed. Such connections between a mother ship and a device located on the seabed are known per se, and require no further explanation.
55
It can also be noted that the device is generally provided for carrying out its functions with various, already known per se, drive arrangements which can obtain their required energy through an energy line connecting the device to the aforementioned mother ship , but that the device can also be provided with its own energy source.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings, in which an embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown.
Fig. 1 toont een perspectivisch aanzicht van een uitvoeringsvorm van de inrichting volgens de uitvinding;FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of the device according to the invention;
Fig. 2 toont een vooraanzicht van de in Fig. 1 getoonde inrichting in een werkstand; 15 Fig. 3 toont een, gedeeltelijk opengewerkt, zijaan zicht van de in Fig. 1 getoonde inrichting in een ruststand;FIG. 2 shows a front view of the device shown in FIG. 1 device in a working position; FIG. 3 shows a partially cut-away side view of the device shown in FIG. 1 device in a rest position;
Figs. 4 en 5 tonen, op overeenkomstige wijze als Fig. 3, dezelfde inrichting tijdens een overgangsfase vanuit de ruststand naar de werkstand, en 20 Fig. 6 toont een aanzicht van dezelfde inrichting in de werkstand.FIGs. 4 and 5, in a similar manner to FIG. 3, the same device during a transition phase from the rest position to the working position, and FIG. 6 shows a view of the same device in the working position.
The figures show an embodiment of a device for forming a trench in the earth's surface which is intended primarily for offshore applications, such as for forming a trench in the seabed. Although not shown in the drawings, such a device can be connected to a mother ship by means of pipes.
The device has a frame 1 with a left caterpillar track 2 and a right caterpillar track 3. The, in this case rectangular, frame 1 is provided at the location of its four corner points with propelling screws 4 which, in a manner not further shown, each are adjustable so that they are movable both about a top axis and a transverse axis of the device. The techniques used for this purpose are known per se and require no further explanation.
The drive means used for driving the tracks 2, 3 and the propelling screws 4 are 1 'L' W. 6, also already up to the state of the art, and therefore require no further explanation. Nor is the energy source for such drive means discussed in detail, which can take any known embodiment (on board the device or on board a mother ship).
Referring in particular to FIG. 2 shows that a support arm 5 is attached to the frame 1 via a movement mechanism 7 to be explained later, which, in the embodiment shown, carries three drill heads 6. These drill heads themselves have a conventional embodiment, and are known, for example, from gas and oil extraction technology.
The embodiment shown in FIG. 2 movement mechanism 7 visible in front view is explained with reference to FIG. 3 explained. Referring to Figs. 1, a number of the parts of the movement mechanism to be described below are of dual design in the embodiment shown. A pivotal arm 8 is hinged at one end at a coupling point 9 to the frame 1. The opposite end of the pivotal arm 8 is pivotally connected at the location of a pivot axis 10 to the carrying arm 5 which the drill bits 6 (with the drives 6) 'thereof). A drive member, such as a cylinder-piston assembly 12, is placed between a second coupling point 11 on the frame 1 and the swiveling arm 8 (in particular a boom or the like formed thereon).
By actuating this cylinder-piston assembly 12, the pivotal arm 8 can be pivoted relative to the frame 1 about the coupling point 9.
Also referring to FIG. 4 it is furthermore visible that between a third coupling point 13 connected to the frame 1 and the bearing arm 5, a drive member such as a cylinder-piston assembly 14 is placed. By energizing this cylinder-piston assembly 14, the carrying arm 5 can be pivoted about the pivot axis 10.
The placement and dimensioning of the various parts of the movement mechanism 7 as well as the moment of actuation of the cylinder-piston assemblies 12 and 14 determine the pivoting of the pivoting arm 8 and the pivoting of the supporting arm 5 about the pivot axis 10 (and thus around the swivel arm 8).
I De werking van de inrichting wordt thans aan de hand I van de Figs. 3 t/m 6 nader toegelicht.The operation of the device will now be described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 6.
In FIG. 3, the movement mechanism 7 has a position such that the drill heads 6 are located above the bottom 15 in which a slot must be formed. In this so-called rest position, the cylinder-piston assembly 12 is fully retracted and the cylinder-piston assembly 14 is extended. It is important that in this rest position the drill bits 6 do not come into contact with the bottom 15; the spatial orientation of the drill heads is of secondary importance here.
Subsequently, the cylinder-piston assembly 12 is extended while the cylinder-piston assembly 14 is retracted. On the one hand, this pivots the pivotal arm 8 about the coupling point 9 in the clockwise direction (as a result of which the drill heads 6 move downwards relative to the frame 1), while on the other hand the carrying arm 5 moves in a direction counterclockwise of the clock pivoted about the pivot axis 10 (as a result of which the drill bits 6 with their effective frontal ends are directed towards the bottom 15). In the meantime the drill heads 6 are energized by their drives 6 'and, while the drill heads I penetrate deeper and deeper into the bottom 15, a start is made with forming a slot 16 in the bottom.
I 25 In Fig. 5 is een daaropvolgende situatie getoond, waarin de zwenkarm 8 nog verder om het koppelpunt 9 is verzwenkt, terwijl het cilinder-zuigersamenstel 14 opnieuw enigszins is uitgeschoven, waardoor de draagarm 5, vergeleken met de positie als getoond in Fig. 4, opnieuw in de richting van de 30 wijzers van de klok om de zwenkas 10 wordt verzwenkt.FIG. 5 shows a subsequent situation in which the pivotal arm 8 is pivoted even further about the coupling point 9, while the cylinder-piston assembly 14 is again slightly extended, as a result of which the carrying arm 5, compared to the position as shown in FIG. 4, is again pivoted in the clockwise direction around the pivot axis 10.
Finally, in FIG. 6 reaches a so-called working position of the device, wherein the drill heads 6 have a rotation axis directed substantially in the direction of movement of the device. There is now a situation in which the slot 16 is formed in the bottom 15 during the advancement of the device of the desired size.
1022181 I 8 I In Fig. 6 is duidelijk zichtbaar, dat in de getoonde I werkstand de boorkoppen 6 zodanig boven elkaar zijn geplaatst I dat elke boorkop 6· ten opzichte van de meteen daaronder gelegen I boorkop 6, in de voortbewegingsrichting gerekend (in Fig. 6 van I 5 rechts naar links), voorwaarts versprongen is gepositioneerd.1022181 I 8 I In FIG. 6 is clearly visible that in the operating position shown the drill heads 6 are placed above each other in such a way that each drill head 6 is counted in the direction of movement relative to the immediately below drill head 6 (in Fig. 6 of I 5 right to left), staggered forward.
I De uitvinding is niet beperkt tot de in het voorgaan- I de beschreven uitvoeringsvorm die binnen het door de conclusies I bepaalde kader van de uitvinding op velerlei wijze kan worden I gevarieerd.The invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, which can be varied in many ways within the scope of the invention as defined by the claims.
