The invention relates to the control of the microclimate around the plants (covered crops) in a greenhouse, of whatever make and design, this greenhouse is, for any cultivation whatsoever. Microclimate is understood to mean: The climate that is directly around the plant (from the hair roots up to and including the growing crown of the plant, and the outermost end of the leaves) with a radius of about 1 to 1.5 m, taking into account all metabolic processes of the same plant, such as respiration, heat emission, light absorption, COi absorption, hormonal activity, fruit sugar formation, flower lay-out and flower formation, etc. Each plant is seen as an autonomous biological equilibrium process, in which the processes 20 of assimilation and dissimilation, and where, from the interaction between the environment of the plant and the soil of the plant, a balance situation is created with the immediate environment (air and soil). The microclimate is formed by a plurality of densely placed plants and will change as the plant develops (both generative and vegetative), and will depend on day and night situations as well as on other external (climatic) factors.
Conventionele methodieken zijn gebaseerd op het beheersen van macroklimatologische omstandigheden in de gehele kas, waarbij de aansturing van de factoren die op dit moment beheersbaar zijn, centraal staan (zoals bijvoorbeeld beluchten, verwarmen, koelen, ventilatie).Conventional methodologies are based on the management of macro-climatic conditions throughout the greenhouse, whereby the control of the factors that are currently controllable are central (such as, for example, aeration, heating, cooling, ventilation).
The climate in the entire greenhouse, in its full extent, is involved and whereby an attempt is made in the conventional manner to find a balance for the then current stage of the plant. This is currently taking place by means of measuring box measurements which are approximately 1 m above the crop, and which possibly process the data of, in particular temperature and relative air humidity, via a central computer in a growth model which is tuned to the growth phase of the plant. Often one measuring box is placed per entire department and thus the 1020694 2 macro climate in the entire greenhouse is adjusted to these measurements. The temperatures in the conventional application are almost always higher at the top of the greenhouse than in the new situation.
The invention is based on a much more detailed principle, namely measuring and controlling the microclimate (relative humidity, temperature of leaf, juice flow, growing point and root medium, growth characteristics such as stem diameter development, etc.) by taking measurements at the level of the growing point of the plant Since the growing point (s) is assessed by the inventor as the central point (s) of the relevant plant, the control of the microclimate in the greenhouse must be based on the measurements that are taken at the level (height and immediate environment) of these points. If the growth point of a plant is defined, and can be physically achieved by micro equipment, then the measurement will also have to take place physically at (or otherwise very close to) these points. Measurements of primarily temperature, relative humidity, CO2 and light intensity should be used for this. The control of the microclimate takes place on the basis of this measurement data to be generated and is related to any growth models still to be developed (whereby the basis will again be the microclimate), after which the microclimate must be optimized such that the microclimate at that moment for that plant is the most optimal (see figure 2).
The invention uses the principle of a reverse temperature gradient. This means in particular that the temperature of the space in a greenhouse, above the crop and above the level of the microclimate, must always be colder in a decreasing temperature gradient. Temperature differences up to an estimated 7 ° C compared to the conventional system can be used for this; this means in particular that the temperature of the microclimate could be up to 7 ° C higher than the ridge of the conventional greenhouse. The invention involves the use of buffers of the heat present or introduced in the crop in order to prevent the natural radiation to the colder upper space in the greenhouse as much as possible (hot air rises after all). The buffering, according to the invention, of the heat will consist of placing the plants as close as possible to each other (as the crop permits in a certain phase) combined with the use of insulating techniques or products, such as for example insulating materials around the substrate holders (pots, trays, etc). See figure 3. Energy savings that are associated with this are estimated at around 20% -30% compared to the current known conventional methodologies.
The object of the invention is, on the one hand, to save rigorously energy, and, on the other hand, to heat the space directly around the plant and the crop. In addition, measuring the immediate environment around the growing point (s), ie measuring the so-called 1020694 microclimate, and controlling the microclimate, will allow the crop to mature faster and more optimally, since the effects will be much faster. of a climatic change (measured at microclimate level) can be interpreted and used. Moreover, the plants will undergo substantially the same development morphologically in this way and will therefore not deteriorate in quality or quantity. The auction value of the crop for growers therefore remains the same or could even be improved (excluding price changes as a result of supply and demand). This measurement and control technique at the microclimate level will lead to a more controllable cultivation, whereby the grower can give priority to, for example, flower formation, fruiting, plant morphology, etc., and for a strong reduction in energy consumption.
The heating can consist of a number of variants, namely hot air, hot water or electric heating.
