Abstract

The lock is built into the frame member which goes from the steering column sleeve and the pedal crank case. When unlocked, the lock mechanism pulls on two cables which run inside the cylindrical member. One cable disengages a spring- loaded blocking pin which operates through a sleeve inside the front fork steering housing. When not disengaged, the blocking pin prevents the rotation of the front fork. The other cable operates a similar spring-loaded blocking pin which prevents rotation of the crank shaft connected to the pedals. Thus when locked, the cycle cannot be steered or pedalled.
