Abstract

The oil-film deposit bearing comprises an outer ring, an inner ring and a number of rolling elements such as balls or rollers. The inner circumference of the outer ring and the inner ring each have an arcuate groove. The surfaces of the arcuate grooves each have a multiplicity of capillary holes. The rolling elements are installed between the arcuate grooves of the outer ring and the inner ring and can roll between them. On their outer surfaces, the rolling members have a number of capillary holes, oil or grease applied to the contacting surface between the rolling members and the arcuate grooves becomes deposited in these capillary holes. Once the oil film-deposit bearing rotates, for example with shaft, the oil or grease deposited in the capillary holes flows out to form an oil film on the contacting surfaces between the rolling members and the arcuate grooves.
