Abstract

The present invention relates to an improved method and apparatus for facilitating the management of health and security. An apparatus (3, 300, 500), comprising a user interface including a touch screen (60, 302) and a telephone handset (303, 513), provides a portal for remote communication and also for control of other devices in the home, including security (312, 313), health monitoring devices (24) and other devices (600). The screen unit (501) and telephone handset unit (303, 513) are mounted to a base unit (503). The base unit (503) and the screen unit (501) contain circuitry for facilitating functionality.
