Abstract
A drying apparatus comprising a chamber (106) for depositing materials to be dried; an array of solar harvesting panel (108), each including a heat insulating hollow casing (111) with an air inlet (102) and an air outlet (103) as well as a light permeable top surface (112) and a solar absorbing plate (113) being positioned within the solar harvesting panel (101) in such a way to create a unidirectional air flow channel inside the casing (111) in which the solar absorbing plate (113) heats the air within the casing (111); and a blower (104) positioned in between the solar harvesting panel (101) and the chamber (106) to draw heated air via the air outlet (103) from the panel into the chamber (106); which the array of solar harvesting panel (108) can be joined together to form a continuous air flow channel by connecting the air outlet (103) of one panel (101) to the air inlet (102) of a neighbouring solar harvesting panel (101).
