Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for monitoring anthesis of an inflorescence (1). The method comprises detecting the temperature of the inflorescence by having a main temperature sensor (2) installed adjacent to the inflorescence. The monitored temperature is transmitted to a decision support system (4) for determining whether anthesis has occurred. A notification is sent to a user if anthesis is determined to have occurred. The present invention also relates to a system for monitoring anthesis of an inflorescence. The system comprises a main temperature sensor (2) installed adjacent to the inflorescence (1) which has been covered, a transmissaon means for transmitting data on the temperature detected to a decision support system (4) so that anthesis can be determined.
