Abstract

The present invention has an object of providing a break detection apparatus capable of detecting a break in a distribution system with higher precision. The break detection apparatus according to the present invention includes: a communication unit (12) receiving, via multi-hop wireless communication, measurement data measured by communication-function-equipped meter reading terminals (7); a communication topology analyzing unit (14) analyzing a communication topology of the communication-function-equipped meter reading terminals (7) based on the measurement data; and a break determining unit (17) determining a state of the break in the distribution system based on a communication state of the communication unit (12), wherein the communication topology analyzing unit (14) determines, among the communication-function-equipped meter reading terminals (7) from which the communication unit (12) cannot receive the measurement data, the communication-function-equipped meter reading terminal (7) ranked highest, which indicates being the closest to the communication unit (12), in the communication topology to be possibly in a power outage state, and determines that the communication-function-equipped meter reading terminal (7) ranked lower than the communication-function-equipped meter reading terminal (7) determined to be possibly in the power outage state is in an unknown state.
