Abstract

A BIO-FUEL OR BIO-FUEL COMPONENT COMPRISES A MIXTURE OF A REFINED PALM OIL AND AN ADDITIVE COMPONENT IN WHICH THE ADDITIVE COMPONENT INCLUDES KEROSENE, PETROL, AND ALCOHOL WHICH IS TYPICALLY METHANOL AND OPTIONALLY DIESEL. EACH COMPONENT CAN BE PRESENT IN A WIDE RANGE OF VALUES. THE BIO-FUEL CONTAINING THE REFINED PALM OIL CAN BE USED AS A SUBSTITUTE FUEL FOR PETROLEUM DIESEL IN DIESEL ENGINES. IN ADDITION TO THE BIO-FUEL OR BIO-FUEL COMPONENT BEING PRODUCED MORE CHEAPLY THAN PETROLEUM DIESEL SINCE IT USES THE READILY AVAILABLE REFINED PALM OIL, THE BIO-FUEL HAS OTHER ADVANTAGES WHICH INCLUDE LESS ENGINE WEAR BECAUSE OF BETTER LUBRICATION FROM THE PALM OIL, LOWER FUEL CONSUMPTION, MORE POWER AND TORQUE BEING PRODUCED LEADING TO BETTER PERFORMANCE AND ACCELERATION OF THE ENGINE AND MORE EFFICIENT COMBUSTION OF THE BIO-FUEL. USE OF THE BIO-FUEL ALSO RESULTS IN LESS POLLUTANTS BEING FORMED AS A RESULT OF THE COMBUSTION BECAUSE OF INCREASED EFFICIENCY.
