Abstract

A MOTOR PROTECTOR (1,1A) HAS A BIMETAL DISC (8) WITH A MOVABLE CONTACT (10) IN AN AIR-TIGHT CASING (2) FOR SWITCHING AN ELECTRIC CURRENT PATH. A SECOND SWITCH (23, 23A) HAVING A FUSE PORTION (23C, 232) IS ELECTRICALLY CONNECTED WITH THE BIMETAL DISC 8 IN SERIES AND OPENS THE ELECTRIC CURRENT PATH WITH THE FUSE PORTION MELTING WHEN A SELCTED OVERFLOW OF ELECTRIC CURRENT OCCURS. AN ATTACHMENT TAB PORTION (23A, 230) OF THE SECOND SWITCH (23, 23A) IS WELDED TO A SIDE (5A) OF A HEADER (5) AND A TERMINAL PORTION (23B, 231) IS CONNECTED TO A WIRE (25). AN INSULATING SHIELD MEMBER (26, 26A) COVERS THE SECOND SWITCH (23, 23A) AND MAY COVER TERMINAL PIN (4).(FIG. 1B)
