Abstract

NOVEL METAL POWDERS, ESPECIALLY ZINC POWDERS, SURFACE-TREATED WITH NONIONIC EMULSIFIERS ARE DESCRIBED. THE SURFACE-TREATED METAL POWDERS ARE PREPARED BY MIXING MIXTURES OF METAL POWDER AND SOLVENTS WITH NONIONIC EMULSIFIERS, SEPARATING OFF THE SOLVENTS AND DRYING THE SURFACE-TREATED METAL POWDERS THUS OBTAINED. THE SURFACE-TREATED METAL POWDERS ARE USED IN AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITIONS, ESPECIALLY IN AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING ORGANOSILICON COMPOUNDS.
