(IN CONJUNCTION WITH 2) AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD (EM) INCLUDES A PLURALITY OF SINGLE EXHAUST PIPES (12, 13, 14, 15) EXTENDING FROM A PLURALITY OF EXHAUST PORTS IN A MULTI- CYLINDER ENGINE. A DOWNSTREAM END (12A, 13A, 14A, 15A) OF EACH OF SINGLE EXHAUST PIPES IS FORMED INTO A FAN-SHAPED SECTION, AND THE DOWNSTREAM ENDS (12A, 13A, 14A, 15A) ARE ASSEMBLED TO FORM A CIRCULAR SHAPE AND INTEGRALLY BONDED TOGETHER BY WELDING (21). A RIGIDITY-INCREASED PORTION IS PROVIDED ON AN INNER SURFACE OF A PORTION CORRESPONDING TO A PIVOT (P) OF THE FAN-SHAPED SECTION OF EACH OF THE SINGLE EXHAUST PIPES (12, 13, 14, 15) BY A CLADDING PROVIDED BY WELD BEADS (20). THUS, THE RIGIDITY OF SUCH PORTION CAN BE ENHANCED, THEREBY PREVENTING THE GENERATION OF A CRACKING (C) OR A BUCKLING (B) IN SUCH A PORTION DUE TO THE HEAT OF AN EXHAUST GAS. IN PLACE OF THE CLADDING PROVIDED BY THE WELD BEADS (20) ON THE PORTION CORRESPONDING TO THE PIVOT (P) OF THE FAN-SHAPED SECTION, THE WALL THICKNESS OF A MATERIAL FOR SUCH A PORTION MAY BE INCREASED (22).
