MOTOR VEHICLE DOOR LATCH, WITH A DOOR LOCK (1) AND A BASE PLACE (2) FOR THE OUTER DOOR HANDLE, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT THE BASE PLATE (2) CAN BE CONNECTED WITH THE DOOR LOCK (1) WITH THE INSERTION OF A PLUG-AND-SOCKET DEVICE (3), WHEREIN THE PLUG-AND-SOCKET DEVICE (3) PERMITS A PRESCRIBED ASSEMBLY CLEARANCE, AT LEAST IN THE VERTICAL DIRECTION AND TRANSVERSE TO THE TRAVELING DIRECTION; WHEREIN THE PLUG-AND-SOCKET DEVICE (3) IS FURTHER DESIGNED AS A LATCHING FIT CONNECTION (3) WITH A LATCHING ELEMENT (4) AT THE BASE PLATE (2) AND A LATCHING ELEMENT RECEPTACLE (5) AT THE DOOR LOCK (1) OR VICE VERSA, WHEREIN THE LATCHING ELEMENT (4) FURTHER HAS A LATCHING ARM (6) WITH A LATCHING HEAD (7) AND A SUPPORT PLATE (8) AND WHEREIN THE LATCHING ELEMENT RECEPTACLE (5) HAS OPPOSING LATCHING LEGS (9) TO RECEIVE THE LATCHING HEAD (7) IN A VERTICALLY OR HORIZONTALLY MOVABLE AND ROTATIONAL OR SWIVEL ABLE MANNER, WITH THE FORMATION OF A PRESS FIT BETWEEN THE LATCHING HEAD (7) AND LATCHING LEGS (9), AND THE LATCHING LEGS (9) TOGETHER WITH A SUPPORT LEG (11) FORM AN INSERTION POINT TO RECEIVE THE SUPPORT PLATE (8) IN A VERTICALLY OR HORIZONTALLY MOVABLE AND ROTATIONAL OR SWIVEL ABLE MANNER.
