A MULTI-LAYERED ARTICLE HAVING A DUAL LAYER BASE ELEMENT AND ADJACENT ELEMENT WHICH ELEMENTS ARE FASTENED TOGETHER EMPLOYING (1) AN ANVIL LOCATED IN THE DUAL LAYER BASE ELEMENT AND (2) A DEFORMABLE FASTENER. THE DEFORMABLE-END FASTENER IS DRIVEN AGAINST THE BASE ANVIL TO DEFORM THE FASTENER-END WHICH GRIPS A LAYER OF THE BASE ELEMENT ONCE DEFORMED. ( FIG. 1 )
