Abstract

BUILT DETERGENT BARS COMPRISING ABOUT 10 TO 45% BY WEIGHT NON-SOAP DETERGENT ACTIVE AND ABOUT 5 TO 60% BY WEIGHT DETERGENCY BUILDER HAVE AS AT LEAST PART OF THE DETERGENT ACTIVE PRIMARY ALCOHOL SULPHATE, FATTY ACID ESTER SULPHONATE OR A MIXTURE OF THE TWO. THE BARS ARE CHARACTERISED IN THAT THE COMPOSITIONS INCLUDES FROM ABOUT 5 TO 30% BY WEIGHT OF WATER SOLUBLE PYROPHOSPHATE AND FROM 3 TO 15% BY WEIGHT OF WATER SOLUBE CARBONATE BUT THE TOTAL OF THESE TWO SALTS IS NOT MORE THAN 35% BY WEIGHT WHILE IF THEY TOTAL ABOVE 25% BY WEIGHT THE AMOUNT OF WATER SOLUBLE PYROPHOSPHATE IS AT LEAST TWICE THE AMOUNT OF WATER SOLUBLE CARBONATE. CHOICE OF COMPOSITION IS ACCORDANCE WITH THE INVENTION, WITH PYROPHOSPHATE AS THE PRIMARY PHOSPHATE BUILDER SALT, ENHANCES THE FEEL OF BUILT DETERGENT BARS.
