Description

DISPENSING UNIT DB DEADLY GOODS SPECIFICATION Cappo of the Invention The present invention relates to an integrated display system for mortuary goods such as caskets, coffins, urns, burial boxes and materials for decorating or embellishing them -, Display systems of the invention are particularly designed to be used by prospective buyers, in a preliminary presentation room. In addition, they can be useful for displaying mortuary merchandise during its intended use, such as at a memorial or funeral service, as well as an exhibition room. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Various systems for displaying coffins are known in the art. The most primitive of these systems consists of a stand or display grid of coffins. See, for example, U.S. Pat. No. 2,937,768, which describes a grid for displaying two-casket coffins having a rigid C-shaped frame structure, for displaying two coffins - a coffin supported on the other. The U.S. Patent No. 5,405,017 describes a system for displaying coffins more contemporary for complete caskets. The '017' patent display system includes a two-strip crate display rack retractable by a scissor unit which in turn connects to a rod. The display grid of the '017 patent is not an integral part of the casket display system. While the '017' casket display system offers a more serene environment than the primitive systems of prior art as set out in the '768 patent, it does not allow the full display of merchandise used in the industry for mortuary goods. and funeral homes. In addition, it does not allow the display of all types of merchandise such as decorative accessories, urns and grave boxes. In addition, the prior art display systems contain an exposure grid on which a complete coffin is mounted, basically requiring the presence of two coffins - one on an upper shelf and the second on a bottom shelf. These systems are difficult to handle and maneuver especially since the lower coffin is often required to be in a retracted state. There is a need, therefore, for an exhibition system that allows the display of a greater volume and a greater type of merchandise related to the deceased, with greater ease for the prospective buyer. In addition, there is a need for a display system that can be assembled more easily and used than what is achieved by the prior art systems. Compendium of the Invention A mortuary merchandise display unit that maximizes the types and styles of mortuary merchandise, comprises two parallel and vertical spaced fin wall panels and a vertical rear wall having side edges attached to the trailing edges of the merchandise. Fin wall panels. The display unit may contain a retractable grid connected to the vertical spaced fin wall panels having a sliding mechanism. The sliding mechanism of preference is that which has one of its members connected to the inside of the fin wall panel and another member connected to the retractable grid. The retractable grid is typically used to display a burial box, coffin or coffin. The display unit can also be a cornice. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the cornice is projected from the vertical rear wall of the merchandise display area. In addition, the display unit of the invention may contain one or more retractable drawers in relatively intimate proximity to the louver or grids that exhibit the burial box, coffin or coffin.
Still in another embodiment of the invention, grid or strip walls comprise at least a portion of the back wall; Display shelves interconnect the flanges inside the strip walls to place urns and other mortuary merchandise. Still another embodiment of the invention, is directed to a mortuary merchandise display unit, modular, which has means to interconnect two or more modular units. Detailed Description of the Preferred Modality The present invention provides an integrated display system for merchandise related to the care of the deceased. The exhibition system of the invention is mainly used in a preliminary presentation room, where the selection of merchandise related to the care of the deceased takes place for the loved ones of the deceased. In addition, the display system of the invention can be used in ceremonial areas related to death, such as the funeral presentation room as well as funeral and memorial services. The display system of the invention is defined by a rear wall and fin or side walls. One of the main advantages of the display system of the present invention is that it maximizes the number and types of goods for the care of the deceased that can be exhibited in a certain area. The display system of the invention can also be a modular structure; allowing it to be armed and disarmed in a short period of time, as well as on a basis "as required". The ability of the display system to be modular allows buyers to buy all or sections of the system whenever they wish. The display system contains a number of novel features that can be used alone or in combination with each other. Figures I and II show a system modality for displaying merchandise for the care of decedents 10 of the invention, mainly for use in rooms for preliminary presentation. The display system 10 comprises a rear wall 12 and doe fin or side walls 14 and 16. The fin walls 14 and 16 are connected to the rear wall 12 in the rear section of the fin wall. The vertical rear wall 12 can be removably attached to the rear edges of the fin walls 14 and 16. As set forth in Figure III, fin wall panels 14 and 16 are connected to the rear wall panel 12 by conventional ready-made accessories. para-assemble ("RTA" * ready-to-assemble) technique. The accessory 13 is illustrated with flanges that mate with the accessory 15, with a recessed area with an approximate depth of 1.27 cm (1/2"). The rear wall panel 12 has an L-shaped cut 11 and wall panels. flaps 14 and 16 have a receiving notch 9 for RTA fixtures Fin and back wall panels of the display systemThey are typically plywood, but can be agglomerated with fibers or other durable material such as synthetic plastic material such as plexiglass or Mylar. The fin wall or walls may be covered with a fabric-like material or having a textured surface. When desired, the cloth-like material can be detachably connected to the panel allowing the user to choose the color and texture. The rear wall panel 12 and the flap wall panels 14 and 16 may include known means for removably connecting objects such as signs and photographs. Means for supporting objects include, for example, perforated board type accessories, slotted wall, bondable surfaces, crochet-and-loop fabric accessories (eg VELCRO "*), magnetic accessories or other known devices for removably supporting objects. to a vertical surface for display of objects The nisho defined by the rear wall panel 12, left flap wall panel 14 and right flap wall panels 16 may exhibit one or more deceased confinement chambers 36. The samaras The confinement of the deceased can be a real size, real-size sections or miniatures. The niche can contain stationary or retractable cameras or a combination of them Figure I illustrates a niche that has two life-size confinement chambers The lower chamber 36a, is supported on the display grid 18. The non-retractable upper chamber 36b, rests on shelving clamps 34, which are fastened to the fin wall panels 14 and 16. The display unit 10 may further contain identification plates 51 in front of the dead confinement chambers 36a and 36b. In preliminary presentation rooms, plates 51 are used to inform the client of the features of the coffin displayed. Symbols 39 or other communication materials can also be mounted on the rear wall 12 or fin walls 14 or 16 to designate information regarding the merchandise relating to the deceased (suando is used in a presentation environment for the exhibition room) or the deceased ( suando is used in a habitat of presentation, funerary or atmosphere of memorial service). When used in an environment for preliminary exhibit room display, each of the deceased confinement chambers 36a and 36b may be displayed with signs or other communicative means that provide information to the prospective purchaser of the camera. Signs 39 may be used instead of or in addition to plates 51. The wall and fin panels illustrated in Figures I and II are typically 1.5 to 2.1 meters (5 to 7 feet), preferably 1.83 meters (8 feet) ) High. The length of the rear wall 12 is sufficient to contain a life-size confinement chamber of real size. The grid 18 is preferably extendable from a rear wall panel 12. Figure II illustrates a side view of Figure 1, before and after the extension of the grid 18 from the rear wall panel. When fully extended, the interior of both dead confinement chambers 36a and 36b can be seen. The lid 38b can be completely raised. Further, when the grid 18 is in a retracted state, the lid 36a of the decease confinement chamber 36a can be completely raised without further abutting other elements of the display unit. The retractable grid 18, when presented, is an integral part of the system for display of mortuary goods 10. As set forth in Figure III, the grid 18 may be of a horizontal beam 20. Typically, two horizontal beams - illustrated as 20a and 20b - are used to distribute more evenly the weight of the confinement chamber of the deceased. The vertical beam 22 contains the horizontal beams 20a and 20b and provides additional support to the grid. One or more vertical beams can be used. The grid is typically metallic, such as steel or aluminum and it is construsive sapaz to maintain the weight exerted on it by the confinement chamber of deceased. The means for advancing the grid 18 outward for better vision, can be any sliding structure mechanism employed conventionally for heavy-duty sajons, such as side-mounted extraship guides installed in the manufacture of office furniture. As set forth in Figure III, these sliding mechanisms can be characterized by a hollow U-shaped guide rail 24 secured to the inside of each of the side walls of the display unit and an extensible slide rail 26, which when the grid is not it retracts, is circumscribed within the U-shaped guide rail 24. The slide rail 26 further consists of a bottom plate 28 which is mounted on the ends of the horizontal beam 20a at 30a, with 30b by the rossed fastener 30c. When two horizontal beams are used, the slide rail 26 contains the additional coupling end 32b for mounting with the horizontal beam at 32a, with the screw 32c. When desired, the sliding mechanism can also have rolling bodies in the slide rail to engage with the channels in the guide rail. In addition, either the guide rail or the slide rail is preferably provided with a stop preventing the grid from rolling forward excessively while allowing it to be pulled out sufficiently so that the lid is free of impediments. A particularly preferred sliding mechanism for use in the invention is the drawer slide structure 27 set forth in Figure IV. An enclosure member 29 is attached to the inner surface of one of the fin wall panels; The two resinth members are parallel to each other. The retractable intermediate member 31 is then attached to the enclosure member 29 through one or more access holes 33. The retractable drawer member 35 is then mounted to the intermediate member 31 through mounting holes 37. A plate, similar the plate 28 is supported on the bottom of the restraining member 29 and serves to hold the shell in mounting reseapers 30a and 32a of the horizontal beam 20 of the grid 18. This sliding mechanism is commonly available as a sliding drawer (draper slide). ) No. 3320 by Hettich Amerisa, LP of Harrisonville, Missouri. When the grid 18 is to be used are a defunct, ready-to-use confinement chamber, it is preferred to use dual heavy duty extension slides to provide increased support. Figure V exemplifies a dual sliding mechanism. With reference to Figure Va, the enclosure members 29a and 29b are fastened to the interior surface of each of the fin wall panels. The enclosure members have upper and bottom lips 25 to hold the intermediate members 31a and 31b within the enclosure members 29a and 29b, respectively. Retractable intermediate members 29a and 29b are fastened to the enclosure members through one or more access holes 33a and 33b, respectively. The sliding drawer members 35a and 35b are then mounted to intermediate members 29a and 29b through mounting holes 37a and 37b, respectively. Figure Vb illustrates an inner view of the enclosure member 29a, which has a plate 28 with receivers 30a and 30b to hold the horizontal beam.
As used herein, the term "confinement chamber for the deceased" shall refer to the coffin, coffin or burial box and, when appropriate, urns. The term will have to include coffins, coffins and boxes of ready-for-use graves as well as the facades of coffins, coffins and boxes of graves. When the exhibition unit is to be used in a preliminary presentation room and is designed not to be opened, it is especially preferred to use the facades of these coffins, coffins and burial boxes. The facade typically includes those exterior sides and surfaces of the chamber visible to the observer. When the camera is used to display only the facade, the inner chamber is hollow. The retractable grid illustrated in Figure III can be used with coffins or coffins as well as burial boxes. The confinement chamber of the deceased can be any of the facade of these cameras or a ready-to-use camera. The facade of the chamber 36a and 36b of Figure II will include the sides, top and front of the chamber. The display unit of the invention may contain more than one retractable definement chamber, when two retractable grids are desired, a solid support (such as plywood or counter-veneer or sheet metal) may rest on the shelf clamps 34 to give the upper retractable grid, the necessary support. Alternatively, shelf brackets 34 can be replaced with a solid support surface extending from (and fastened to) the left flap wall 14 with the right wall panel 16. Sliding drawer structure units similar to those illustrated in Figures III and V, will be used for both of the dead confinement sámara, retractables. It is often convenient, in particular, if the display unit contains a retractable, defibrillator housing to hold the unit with a stationary support. In this way, the rear wall 12 can be attached to the adjoining wall surface (or tablarro) of the sonussion. Alternatively, or in addition to attaching the rear wall to the adjoining wall, the base of the fin wall or rear wall may be bolted to the floor by means of conventional fasteners. In doing so, the potential torque in the display due to the extendable defunct confinement chamber will be counteracted. The display unit of the invention may contain one or more non-retractable (stationary) grids either in addition to or in place of the retractable grid 20. Figure I illustrates shelves 34 for mounting a non-retractable definement chamber. Additional support for the chamber can be provided by extending the guide shelf 34, by the length of the interior of the niche defined by the rear wall 12 and fin wall 14 and 16. Due to the torque imparted by the retractable grid in its position When extended, it is better that the retractable grid be placed in the section farther to the bottom of the display unit, when a stationary grid is used in combination with a retractable grid. In order to increase the number and types of deceased confinement chambers exhibited, the display unit of the invention may further contain rooming or subdivision-containing cameras, sectional. A defunct chamber, sectional, is a coffin, coffin or partial burial box that is cut in such a way that it is mounted on the reception wall. Figure VI illustrates a nisho that has two secundary confinement chambers, secs, 36a and 36b. As shown in FIG. VI, a sámara for deceased deceased, sessíonal, 40 which is sorta at 90 °, allows the observer to see the butt end 42 of the samara together with the external ornamentation of the segmented chamber. The partial chamber can be a facade only or when you want it to be seen with the lid in the open position, it contains an internal view of the segmented chamber that is presented.
The chamber for containment of the deceased for use in the invention can also be sectioned at an angle greater than 90 ° from the wall panel. For example, as illustrated in Figure VII, the session samara 41 may be sorted such that the top end of the samara is seen by the observer at an oblong angle. When held in a flat wall, the sessional sámara, for deceased stencil, 40 allows the observer to see in more detail a camera that appears superior with the niche. In addition, the inside of an open chamber is more easily visible when the samara is sitting at an angle greater than 90 °. When this is done, the parsial samara appears to the observer in a position that is insined in a downward direction. The confinement chambers of the deceased, including their sections can be mounted easily on the wall of the nisho. Figure VIII illustrates the trailing end of a characteristic deflection sapphire used in the invention. The deceased confinement chambers 8a and 8b illustrated in Figure VIII are "? Nast part of the casket", which is a representation of a coffin of a regular size casket. As illustrated, the unit is approximately 1.83 meters (6 feet) high and 1.22 meters (4 feet) from ansho. The samaras have blocks 7a and 7b in their posterior superfamily. The lower edges of the blocks 7a and 7b are bevelled, to correspond with the blocks 6a and 6b which are bevelled on their upper surfaces. The corresponding slots in blocks 6a and 7a and blocks 6b and 7b create a French cleat 120 by the sual, the chamber can be suspended in the wall. The merchandise display unit of the invention may additionally contain one or more retractable drawers 44 or display boards, to show the accessories typically employed with the chamber for deceased confinement on display. These accessories include fabrics for the lid panel - that portion of the interior of the chamber that lines the top of the lid, as well as the overlaying layer - the fabric that sits across the outside of the chamber, when open the lid of the camera. The drawer can also be modified to keep samples of ornamental decorative finishes for the exterior of the camera that is displayed. The retractable drawer unit 45 of Figure IX consists of two sets of retractable drawers 44a and 44b. In operation, each of the drawers can display decorative materials for separate confinement chambers. The drawers are retractable by drawer slides mounted on the bottom, conventional in the art.
The upper surface 47 of the unit of the saxon unit 45 may have a recessed area 49 for releasing a sign plate 51. The base 53 of the plate 51 fits within the recessed area 49. The front surface of the plate may contain additional information. Regarding the camera on display (when used in a preliminary presentation room) or the deceased (when used in a funeral home or a memorial service facility). As illustrated in Figure VI, the retractable drawer unit 45 can extend from the flap wall 14 to the flap wall 16. The top shelf 47 of the drawer unit 45 can form the support for the defibrillation chamber of the deceased 42 is illustrated in Figure VT. Either or both of the rear wall or fin wall panels of the mersansy display system of the invention may comprise a beam wall. Figure X illustrates a wall of the niche containing the strip wall 50. Shelving is adjusted within the recessed grooves 52 defined by the strip wall 50. Layered shelf 54 attaching a recessed slot of one wall with strips to another , in addition it can be used instead of planar 55 shelving. Layered shelving consists of a horizontal flat section 56, in the sual the mersansía is exhibited, and support 58, angled so that it fits in a recessed slot adyasente. Mersansias such as urns and miniaturization sphinxes of the deceased can be displayed on a wall shelf. The base 51 of the wall nisho are strips can be raised to exhibit other objects. The use of stripped walls has particular applicability in the display of miniaturized, confined death chambers, such as coffins or miniaturized burial boxes. The merchandise display system of the invention may also contain a cornice. Any harmonic cornice or soffit described in the technique may be sufficient. For example, the sornisa can be of a horizontal beam extending from the fin wall 14 to the fin wall 16. Typically, the use of a cornice will increase the height of the exhibit to more than 2.1 meters (7 feet). In a preferred embodiment, the height of the fin wall panels and the rear wall panels suando is added to the sornisa, is approximately 2.3 meters (7.5 feet). A particularly preferred sornisa is that established in Figure III, which is easy to produce and which allows the display of a more than adequate amount of light. The cornice 60 is mounted on the rear wall 10 of the display unit, preferably within the upper portion of the rear wall. The cornice is composed mainly of a left cantilevered vertical beam 62 and a right cantilevered vertical beam 64, both of which extend from the rear wall 10. The horizontal beam 66 is mounted on the front edges of the vertical beams 62 and 64. The horizontal beam 66 of the sillisation structure 60 extends over most of the rear wall of the display system. The horizontal beam 66 is fixed to the display system 10 by two vertical beams 62 and 64 extending from the rear wall 12. The horizontal beam 66 of the cornice typically extends more than 50 of the length of the rear wall of the seventh. of merchandise exhibition; more typically over the entire length of the unit for display of mersancía. One or more mounting brackets 68 may collapse in spaced apart from the rear wall 10 to the horizontal beam 66, when necessary to provide additional support. A light source can be hidden from the observer inside the sornisa design, preferably over the vertical beams of the cornice system. Examples of lighting source are one or more track lifts or solders 70 that can be easily manipulated, such that light is directed at selected merchandise within the display system. Hanging or track lights 70 are fastened by conventional bolts or nuts and bolts to the exterior surface of the vertical beams 62 and / or 64. As set forth in Figure IX, the upper surface of the vertical beams 62 and 64 that contain a lighting source, contain recessed chambers 72 for storing the electrical wiring. The wiring leaves the cornice structure through the opening 73 and connects to the electrical plug behind the rear wall. The wiring for lighting means 70 leads through the opening 63 in the vertical beam 62 upwards to the recessed surface 72 and exits the cornice structure through the opening 73. The electrical wiring is not obvious to the observer of the exhibition unit. The horizontal beam of the cornice structure may contain the information center 69 to display information regarding either the deceased (where the unit is used in memorial or funeral settings) or the displayed merchandise (where the unit is used for merchandise). point of sale) . For example, in point-of-sale merchandise, the information center may display information regarding the materials used in the manufacture of the confinement chamber for the deceased, such as "stainless steel", "wood shapa", "wood" hard, "" steel, "etc., as well as the information regarding the merchandise shown, such as" interiors "for an exhibit illustrating the interior of the confinement chamber of the deceased. The information center 69 can be printed on a decorative plate which can be fastened on the upper surface of the horizontal beam 66, directly or tightly over a recessed area in the horizontal beam. In a preferred embodiment, the horizontal beam of the cornice contains a decorative finish 71, complementary to the decorative finish of the display system. The decorative finish can run along the perimeter of the information center 69. The vertical beams 62 and 64 in Figure XII of the cornice can be attached to the rear wall of the display unit and the horizontal beam attached to the vertical beam by diverse means sonosidoe, for example by an RTA assesorio, by a threaded screw connection, by gravity insurance method or otherwise, as known by those skilled in the art. The preferred connection member is the ready-to-assemble ("RTA") 120, which includes a threaded fastener such as a machine-threaded screw extending longitudinally outwardly from one end of the screw. Receptor member and are to a threaded thread or other threaded retainer. For example, the threaded head of the RTA accessor can extend from the rear wall of the stenant member. The reseptor member is probed to the reseptor end. Figure XII demonstrates a method for attaching the sternisation to the rear wall 12. Vertical beams 62 and 64 are fastened to the rear wall 12 by threaded screws extending from the rear of the rear wall panel 12 into the rear wall 12. the vertical beam. Mounting clamps are fastened to the upper 124 and bottom 122 portions of the front vertical spacer strips 62 and 64. Coupling screws are inserted in the rear part of the horizontal beam 66 that interlock within the slot 128 of the mounting bracket 120. The sonfigrations for use in the invention can also be characterized as a modular display system, wherein the modular units are prefabricated and are removably packed together to form the desired niche configurations. In this way, portions of the display unit can be mixed or matched so that they can be purchased separately from each other or at different times. Figure XIII exemplifies the modular display unit. The base unit 80 of the modular manifold contains the rear wall 12a attached to the fin wall panels 14a and 16a. The upper ones of the fin wall panels 14a and 16a thus the upper surface of the rear wall 12a has a lip 15, as is more clearly detailed in Figure XIV. The bottom 17 of the second modular unit 86 is recessed and interlocked are the lip 15 of the base unit 80. Alternately, the upper part of the base member 80 may interasroot the bottom of the second modular unit 86 by other conventional means. The second modular unit 86 in turn contains the lip 15b on the upper surface of the left-wing wall panel, right-wing panel and rear wall to engage the recessed slot running through the lower perimeter of the third modular unit 90. As shown in FIG. illustrated in Figure XIII, the base modular unit 80 contains the retractable reji-Ha 18a for a deflection sonification chamber. The characteristics of this grid are identical to those shown here for Figure III. Instead of the retractable grid 18a, the base modular unit 80 can contain any of the faces here for display of mortuary mersanias. For example, the modular base unit 80 instead of the retractable grid 18b, may have a shelf, such as that illustrated in Figure I as 34 for the stationary, confinement chamber, or may contain the necessary tooling to receive a display. from butt to butt for confinement cameras, sectional. The third modular unit 90 may contain a cornice (illustrated in Figure III) with or without lighting means. The decorative end layer 140, as illustrated in Figure XIV, can additionally be affixed to the upper lip of either the base unit 80, second modular unit 86 or third modular unit 90. The end cap 140 has a recessed slot that intermeshes with the lip 142 of the most superior unit of the exhibitor. The end cap can be easily detached from the lip to add additional modules when desired. The base unit of the modular system, as well as the lower portion of the non-modular display system of the invention, may further comprise (i.) A pipe base structure which may contain, when a retractable grid is required, a track structure for extraction; and (ii.) the wall structure comprises fin wall and rear wall panels. The retractable grid can also be part of the base structure of the pipe. Figure XV shows the pipe structure 180 comprising the fin pipe 184 and 186 and the rear wall pipe 182. The pipes 184, 186 and 182 can be composed of any durable material including steel and aluminum. In a preferred embodiment, this pipe is extruded aluminum. It can be produced as a single piece (as shown in Figure XV) or by three separate pieces of inter-transplants. This pipeline is preferably also hollow as illustrated in Figure XVII. The perimeter of the rear wall and fin wall pipe further contains a recessed area 188 on its upper perimeter wherein the fin wall panels 14 and 16 and the rear wall panel 12 of the niche can be secured. When the display system is to employ a retractable recessing confinement chamber, sliding mesanisms are provided to the tube fin panels 184 and 186. As set forth in Figure XVI, the pipe strut 180 may additionally hold the grid. 18 as illustrated in Figure III. Figures XVII and Figure XVIII are cross-sectional areas of the guide sliding mesanism of the pipeline. As it is presented, the sliding mesanism can sorresponder to the same sliding mechanism presented in Figure IV; the enclosure 29 can be secured to the inner wall of the fin pipe 184 and the fin pipe 186. A lip 190 can project from the fin pipe to protect the contaste sliding structure.
Some or all of the above embodiments of the invention may be designed to present multiple nishoe, primarily for preliminary presentation habitats. Figure XIX illustrates four niches 92, 94, 96 and 98. The niches 94 and 96 have seccional coffins (approximately 1/4 in size). The niches 92 and 98 present coffins of full top and bottom size. The lower coffin 100 in the niche 98 is in a retractable track. The cornice 60 of the niche 98 contains track light or pendant 70. The niche 96 also contains signs 38, used mainly to record information respecting the mersansy within the niche. It also contains retractable drawers 44, used mainly for decoration merchandise. Flap wall panels attached to two adjacent flaps can protrude a common wall panel. Alternatively, the merchandiser may consist of distinct niches contiguous with each other. In order to give each of the units a more uniform appearance, a tang 150 as set forth in Figure XII can extend from the fin wall panel into the vertical beam of the sornisa. Reduced respecters on the vertical beam and the fin wall panel serve as the acceptor for the end of the spigot.
A handle on any or all of the superfisies of the merchandise display unit. Can be placed to coordinate more cersanamente are the mersansía that is exhibited. For example, when the merchandising display is of coffins or coffins, the rear and side walls of the display unit can be pigmented to improve the colors of the merchandise. Various modifications can be made in the nature, somposistion, operation and arrangement of the various elements, stages and processes outlined here, and departing from the spirit and alsanse of the invention is defined in the following claims.
