Abstract
El metodo de la presente invencion y dispositivo usado en el mismo se dirigen para caracterizar laminillas metalicas desconocidas presentes en un revestimiento existente en un sustrato tal que una composicion de pintura metalica para igualar se puede formular y aplicar sobre el sustrato para producir un revestimiento metalico que tiene caracteristicas, tales como tono cambiante, que igualan el revestimiento existente. El metodo incluye dirigir una haz de luz a una intensidad preestablecida hacia una porcion objetivo de un revestimiento objetivo, dirigir una reflexion de la porcion a una superficie fotosensible para capturar una imagen objetivo de la porcion objetivo; medir las caracteristicas de las laminillas metalicas desconocidas en la imagen objetivo a la intensidad preestablecida; correlacionar las caracteristicas de las laminillas metalicas desconocidas en la imagen objetivo a las caracteristicas almacenadas de laminillas metalicas conocidas a la intensidad preestablecida para identificar una o mas laminillas metalicas conocidas que igualan las caracteristicas de las laminillas metalicas desconocidas; y desplegar una o mas laminillas metalicas conocidas identificadas que igualan las caracteristicas de las laminillas metalicas desconocidas. Una vez que se conocen las caracteristicas, un formulador puede entonces formular una pintura metalica que se puede aplicar sobre la superficie de un sustrato, tal como una carroceria reparada, para producir un revestimiento metalico que es igual al resto de la carroceria.
