Abstract

The present invention refers to bandages and, more particularly, to high and medium compression bandages comprising special yarns that improve the characteristics of a traditional bandage. The present bandages include a chain formed by a warp having in a first embodiment tangled elasthane and polyester yarns, polyester floating yarns, and a cotton weave; in a second embodiment, the warp includes elasthane and polyester yarns alternating different colours and presenting a cotton yarn weave. The bandage is a flat-rolled up tape having a nylon tape with hooks stitched to the edges of the bandage in order to be fastened.

Description

IMPROVEMENTS IN ELASTIC BANDS.
D E S C R I P C I N Field of the invention.
The present invention relates generally to elastic bandages and more especially to elastic bandages with new and useful improvements, which give them improved characteristic properties with respect to the traditional bandages used in medicine.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The bandages for fastening primitively formed by a strip of textile material cut to a certain length and rolled up for easy application are already known. Subsequently, textile materials have been specially designed to manufacture bandages with special characteristics for common or surgical use.
Patent 150,971 discloses a warp knitted elastic bandage comprising parallel and textured warp yarns formed into chain stitch meshes, a set of parallel textured floats and two sets of inelastic weft yarns according to a regular and repeating pattern.
The patent 147,143 discloses a self-sustainable open-mesh elastic bandage, whose layers on the lap are capable of sticking against each other, with strands of false twisted filament in the warp, with a diagonal incrustation of inelastic threads in the direction transverse, a set of non-elastic filler yarns distributed through warp yarns and embedded therein.
None of these patents closer to the invention, mentions the use of the special yarn claimed in the present, so it does not present the novel characteristics claimed, that is to say that unlike the traditional ones, these bandages present better elasticity, maintaining a medium compression, which is the main function of a bandage, this bandage is lightweight and retains the same weight as traditional bandages; by its components, it presents more softness, with a very pleasant touch, conserving a high content of cotton offers a high absorption of the perspiration of the bandaged part, and also retains its characteristics even after several washes, which makes it more durable.
It should be mentioned that there are a large number of bandages aimed at surgical bandages, bandages with a different width guide, absorbent bandages, bandages of several layers, impenetrable wound, etc., but in no case is the use of special threads with the which is formed builds the bandage of the invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Basically, the present invention provides, in a first embodiment, a flat woven bandage, with a special warp formed of elastane and polyester, pressed together at some distance (tanged) to hold them together and with floating polyester threads, with weft of cotton thread. In a second embodiment, warp yarns are provided which, when weaving, alternate direction, left and right alternately, forming a zigzag pattern, at the tips including a 1"(one inch) nylon sewn tape. wide with hooks, used to hold the bandage.
With the above mentioned special yarns, an improved elastic bandage is obtained with the aforementioned characteristics of medium compression, with a better elasticity, lightweight, with the same weight as traditional bandages, softer, retaining a high cotton content to offer a high absorption of the perspiration of the bandaged part, finally, it preserves said characteristics even after several washes which makes it more durable, which is one of the objectives of the invention.
Detailed description of the invention and best way to carry it out.
Next, a detailed description of the invention will be given, given only by way of non-limiting example, since different embodiments can occur in view of the invention, without departing from the technical field of the invention, which should consider in its broadest and non-limiting sense.
In the drawings.
Figure 1 is a schematic view of the first embodiment of the elastic bandage of the present invention.
Figure 2 is a schematic view of the second embodiment of the plurality elastic bandage.
Figures 3 to 8 show the formation of the warp chain in a continuous weft thread across the width of the bandage; Y Figure 9 shows the end of a bandage with a nylon ribbon sewn with hooks that serves to hold the bandage. | With reference to the figures and especially to figure 1, a weaving construction is shown, consisting basically of a continuous weft of cotton yarn 1 across the width of the bandage, and a warp 2 of a chain with a floating yarn alternately placed longitudinally across the width of the bandage; now, with reference to figure 2, a chain of one color and a chain of another alternate contrasting color are provided, placed longitudinally throughout the width of the bandage, the path of the threads will alternate from left to right, forming a drawing (zig zag). The plot is also a continuous thread across the width of the bandage.
The novel properties of the bandage are obtained by the functional technical combination of the following materials: For the warp, a special yarn composed of an elastane, which can be lyckra or spandex and a polyester thread, said yarns are pressed at a certain distance to hold them together (tangleados) and a float yarn of stretch textured polyester, in combination with a cotton weft thread (figure 1).
For the warp, an elastane thread that can be lyckra or spandex and a polyester thread, alternating threads of one color with threads of another color. In a preferred embodiment white yarns and brown yarns are used, without this being limiting, in combination with a cotton weft yarn (Figure 2).
As is evident, the sizes of the threads may vary if so desired, as well as the width and length of the bandage.
The manufacturing process is carried out in conventional warping, weaving, steaming, wrapping and wrapping machines, as can be easily understood by a person moderately skilled in the art, and with the use of the invention the obj ective characteristics are achieved, ie greater elongation ( consequently a greater compression in its use), greater softness, same weight and resistance to washing, all of which has been proven with the aforementioned bandage of the present invention.
In view of the invention different variants can occur, in the materials (using other similarly useful materials, known or to be known), different colors, calibers, different densities, etc., all of which has already been contemplated in this invention and it is only limited by the following clauses.
