Abstract

Un procedimiento para preparar un compuesto de éster de ácido glicídico trans-3-substituido de la formula (1): (Ver Formula) caracterizado porque el anillo A es un anillo de benceno substituido o no substituido, y R1 es un residuo de éster, que comprende: preparar una solucion de un isomero optico (A) y el otro isomero optico (B) del compuesto de éster (I), los cuales son isomeros opticos debido a los carbonos asimétricos en las posiciones 2- y 3-, y un compuesto de éster (B') que es diferente al isomero (B) solo en el residuo de éster R1, cristalizar el isomero optico (A) a partir de la solucion al grado que el isomero optico (A) se cristaliza sin la precipitacion del isomero optico (B) debido a la presencia del compuesto de éster (B') aunque el isomero optico (B) se precipitaría si el compuesto deéster (B') no estuviera presente, y aislar los cristales del isomero optico (A), por medio de lo cual puede obtenerse un isomero optico (A) deseado con pureza alta y con rendimiento alto, de manera que el isomero deseado se puede cristalizar hasta que la concentracion del isomero deseado en la solucion madre sea muy baja en comparacion con procedimientos convencionales.
