Abstract

La presente invencion está relacionada con un método de inhibicion del desarrollo de patogenos externos e internos en las plantas, mediante la aplicacion directa de una solucion acuosa constituida por urea y por lo menos una sal soluble en agua de un cation divalente y un anion monovalente, al las semillas, tallos, cortezas, hojas, panojas o espigas o zonas radiculares sub-superficiales de las plantas. La proporcion porcentual en peso de la urea a los cationes divalentes en estas soluciones sería de aproximadamente 0.25-10.0 a 1.0. Los cationes divalentes preferidos incluyen a los metales alcalinotérreos y metales transitorios. Los preferidos son calcio, magnesio, zinc, manganeso, cobre, fierro, cobalto, níquel y mezclas de los mismos. Los aniones preferidos incluyen nitratos, cloruros, bromuros y mezclas de los mismos. En las soluciones preferidas la proporcion de urea al cation divalente es de aproximadamente 2.0-7.0 a 1.0. Las soluciones preferidas incluyen especialmente al cloruro de calcio como la sal soluble en agua. Opcionalmente debe ser incluida una segunda sal soluble en agua de un cation divalente y un anion monovalente.
